That's sad news... I went to school with her son Alex, and went to their home a few times - very Bohemian!

On Sundays when working in Brighton Ticket Office we would always pass her requests when she purchased her ticket to travel to London and every time she played them mentioning us

Great memories of a Prince’s Trust event about 30 years ago, where Annie did a set. I was there in a team helping with other stuff, long story… anyway, afterwards about 20 of us went back to the chalet she’d been provided with, and partied long into the night. She was a lot of fun, great spirit… and could certainly still pull ‘em young and handsome! 😉

Very much associated with Brighton working for the Argus she was the music reviewer I remember most vividly hosting the old grey whistle test and heavily promoting many punk and new wave bands.
I had no idea that she was in her 80’s they don’t make them like that anymore RIP

I’m so sad about this - she was a very close friend of the family (though my father’s journalism connections- we socialised with her (and Binky Baker) for years and I knew Alex well - although he was a bit younger than me.

I also knew Annie apart from family through my involvement in the music scene in Brighton - her caustic humour and support of ground breaking musical genres will be sorely missed.

Farewell Annie - RIP 😥
