Last night according to argus, looking at Kuipers

I'm not fundamentally against selling Kuipers if we get Henderson.

It would be a luxury to have two quality keepers in this league with our squad.

My only problem is Rushden are'nt likely to be offering the £100,000 I believe Kuipers is worth.

If he hadn't had the injury problems and had been playing for the last 2 seasons then I'd say that was fair. As it is we'll be lucky to get a quarter of that.

Thats the thing, injurys.

As a package. Not all upfront.

£25,000 up front.

£25,000 if they stay up.

£25,000 if they make the play-offs in the next 3 seasons

£25,000 when he makes 50 appearances.

We've been stuck for similar deals over the last few years.

Chris Iwelumo springs to mind.

I know it's been said before, but I think the FDM has had a real
bum deal from McGhee. He performs brilliantly over several seasons, almost certainly winning us games, then sustains a
bad injury in the line of duty. He fights his way back into the team,
looks back to his old invincible self and then gets dumped:nono:
I think it's a poor way to treat such a good servant to the club and a decent guy ...

I do feel sorry for FDM.

This must be a killer for fans of Mcghee.

On one hand you have Kuipers a loyal servant, on the other a man that according to some has no faults in Mcghee

You can be a MM-fan whilst recognising he makes mistakes... I put myself in that category... LI, on the other hand, will not accept that MM makes any mistakes...

If kuipers is worth 100k why would A sell him
B get Henderson for 25k +

I don't think he is worth £100,00 in a one-off payment, just as I don't believe the £30,000 we are rumoured to be offering for Wayne Henderson will ultimately be all we end up paying Villa, should he sign.

whilst coveniently forgetting that although a very good player FDM has spent large chunks of the last three seasons injured. At what stage do you call enough if you have the chance of signing an equally good but much younger International?

Rushden & Diamonds are believed to be poised to sign Brighton goalkeeper Michel Kuipers.

The Diamonds watched Kuipers in action for the Seagulls' reserves on Wednesday, where he made a string of fine saves in a 0-0 draw with Reading.

And, with Brighton on the verge of signing Wayne Henderson from Aston Villa, Kuipers could be set to move to Nene Park in the January transfer window.

At work - probably
AS much as I rate the FDM - I rate Henderson as much if not more - if we get Henderson for £20,000 plus add ons and sell the FDM for about the same or even less (assuming he is a higher wage earner) I think it could prove to be a good bit of business bearing in mind how many games FDM has missed games over the last three years (excluding the two rather unfortunate accidents)

I think if we were to sell kuipers because of henderson coming in most fans would be very upset and it would only increase the amount of anti MM feeling. With leon i can see why MM disliked him but chel has always been a model professional since he has been here and hasnt fallen out with any other managers even though he may not have been number 1 and always worked hard to get himself back in the team.
