Agree with everyone that it's the experience/maturity we are missing. People are looking to Wieffer as an older head, but he only turned 25 six weeks ago.

And to complicate it more, not everyone matures at the same age. AliMac incredibly mature beyond his years. Maybe some of our current youngsters are less so

Not one word in there that hasn't been uttered a million times on NSC.

Naylor saying something doesn't mean RDZ was correct or incorrect in anything. Naylor is a person among others.

The club indeed wants another direction than buying 26-28 year old players who in their peak would come to us rathert than a big club because they're not good enough and never will be good enough to play in a top team.

Because that approach, we could call it "the Everton model", eventually leaves you sitting with a bunch of unsellable aging players on high wages. And we (well, the owner at leas;, many fans are in favour of signing expensive established players with no resale value despite the fact that it would be an existential threat against the club) don't want that so we don't do that.

Luckily there are other ways of getting experience, such as playing games, so our squad will be more experienced tomorrow evening and we didn't have to buy a single 28-year-old to make it happen. Magic!
Maybe we should sign Ben Chilwell

Keep the treatment room ticking over too

190k a week wages shouldn’t be a problem :lolol:

Born In Shoreham

To be fair, we did spend over £50m on Weiffer (25) and O'Riley (24). Age and fitness are two criteria, but you're missing the third criteria: established at PL level. That may not tak n the fee out of our range, but it certainly would on wages

I am struggling to argue with any of that….and expecting the disappointment to continue of Friday

We look like rabbits in the headlights once we have a lead and the game management is as bad as I ever recall it, even in the days we struggled.

However I was very encouraged by the early subs against West Ham.

We need Lady Luck back on our side to regain some confidence imo
The minute Wieffer

That’s why I mentioned Wieffer, we looked reasonably solid until Ayari came last week. Forced I know and at least Fab

We basically did that with Lallana for how many years?
No idea why you find it funny.

You were spot on although many of us shared the same view so don't hold your breath for that cheque! Hope we'll have Welbeck and Hinshelwood (future Brighton captain) back on the pitch soon and maybe even Solly at which point the leadership problem will be solved.
Solly is not a leader , if anything he is a confidence player , is the one who needs to be given leadership
