Sport at its best, two men playing at their peak. Brilliant from Murray, simply brilliant. And a big shout for Lendl.

Murray came over as quite humble in his post match interview - definitely improved as a person as well as a player

Couldn't hack staying up! Great news to wake up too! Really started to like Murray over the last 3-4 years. He was a bit arrogant when he first began but now he's matured and what a player! what a summer of sport for GB!

Murray - grand slam win & Olympic gold
Rory McIlroy - major win (almost forgotten about...)
Bradley Wiggins - Tour de France & Olympic gold
Olympics - 29 Golds
Paralympics - 34 Golds
Lewis Hamilton... He couldn't could he?

This will be the greatest BBC SPOTY! Cannot pick a winner! They're ALL winners.

Forgot all about it. Well done Andy Murray. He will be a happy man when he wakes up.

Tennis is Mental. Playing the actual game is only one part of it. What goes in your bonce is as important (see Jake Robinson threads).

Right, you'll be pleased to know that's me checking out, I'll be listening to the rest on the radio.

NOTHING CAN GO WRONG NOW.

Well that was 23:48, sorry chaps.

If only I could be that accurate when money is involved.

One of the finest British athletes of all time. A wonderful performance overall.

I was relatively confident he would win at least one major. Desperately want him to win on British soil.

Nice one Andy!

I lasted til about 12:15, but have to be up before 5. so, so pleased he did it, but I thought when Djok started coming back in the 3rd, that he might a bad sign. To win in the 5th makes him a far stronger person that I thought he might be, but all the better for that. Superb.

Hopefully the first of many. The monkey is well and truly off his back.

My view as well, he could win quite few majors now.

So pleased for him.
