I think we let him go a tad too early. Good old fashioned centre half !!

Can't argue with that.

I actually quited liked him at the heart of the defence - did a good job.
No frills - but it worked.
Did we replace him with Wicks?

He was a bit of a donkey. Don't get me wrong for what he was he was great but he was very slow and had the turning circle of bus.

I always thought he was really good and was sorry to see him go, but then again Kerry Mayo is still my favourite player so what do I know:wave:

He wasn't quick was he!!

He did do a good job at that level though, and I thought we could have held on to him a bit longer.

Especially given what happened to both Wicks and Morgan.
Hindsight - what a marvelous thing

He was one of my favourite players from the double championship era. He really seemed to love the club (and us) and took great delight in telling us so at the League 2 Championship Parade.

This can be backed-up by the way he celebrated promotion to League 1 when we won away at Plymouth Argyle...He was ecstatic.

He'll be getting a good reception from me that's for sure.

Always gave his all and has good things to say about the club even now (see yesterdays Argus).

Welcome back Andy

Great player at this level and was desperately unlucky to get injured which prompted Adams to bring in Wicks, never really got back after that. Deadly from the penalty spot I seem to recall as well

Watch out for his ear - he's deadly with that from two yards

I thought he arsed the ball in that night - difficult to see from V though

I thought he was a good player.

Was it Peter Taylor that got rid of him?

Yes but it was Mickey Adams that started the ball rolling. We basically ended the League 2 championship season with Crosby and Cullip in the heart of defence. Adams' then went and signed Morgan that summer and he automatically took Andy's place in the team and stayed there.

Crosby was an ACE player. And the very first NSC sponsored match [against Cardiff (1-0, Zamora)] ended with us awarding him with the Man of the Match.

Quality player and bloody nice bloke.

You mean Division Three right? As it was called that at the time. Simon Morgan was fantastic the following year though, a shame he decided to retire.

I bet we struggle to get the better of him tomorrow.

Damn good centre-half in my book. I'd take him back now given the chance.

He'll get a rousing reception from me at least.

Got a smile from him at the away game.

At our corner we were encouraging him to score an own goal for old times sake.
