Imagine if we’d won the first leg 5-0. We’d have been insisting that @jackalbion was stabbed in the arse before every subsequent match.
Lucky scarf.. Check
Lucky socks.... Check
Quick stab to the arse.....

Just bringing people up to date with this...

Andy and @jackalbion have made up their losses which has left a balance of £560, which has been transferred to me.

I shall be buying a selection of Albion and more general Brighton-related goodies for the Good Samaritan Riccardo over the next few days.

All being well, I'll get those to @Iggle Piggle who is visiting Rome in a couple of weeks and has very kindly volunteered to take the gifts out and present them to Riccardo.

The remaining cash will be donated to charity.

Further updates in due course...

The good news is that I broke the news to my wife last night that on our holiday we will be a) going to the location where 2 people got stabbed and B) our suitcase will be full of Brighton tat. She took it surprisingly well.

I was saved by my 13 year old son who is very enthusiastic about the whole thing (he's Brighton mad) and will probably be used as the memorabilia presentation mule for any photo opportunities which he thinks will turn him into a social media sensation. Who needs a trip to the Collosseum?

Just a thought... some Albion tat is fine, but couldn't you get him a good bottle of whiskey as well?

Just catching up on this thread - no surprise who caused the binfest - but can someone bring me up to speed with what the restaurant fella did as I missed this bit? Did he fight off the muggers? Very, very ballsy as they had blades and what a great gesture to send him some BHA stuff - well done to all involved (minus the muppet)

He basically signalled us to come in the restaurant, shouted at them to piss of basically, rang the police and ambulance while me and Andy were leaking claret all over his lovely restaurant.

Clearly, then, the ideal gift is - a nice bottle of Claret for the good Samaritan restauranteur ....
Best make sure it's an Italian one so as not to offend - can you even get Italian Claret?

Historically, Claret refers exclusively to Bordeaux red wines but in recent times the Yanks and the Aussies have stolen the word for some of their topnotch Cabernet Sauvignon blends. The Italians do not use the term in their wines.
