That's not what the post originally said until it was edited 17 minutes ago

Seriously doubt many - if anybody - would have considered funding the guy for 'stolen goods and lost passport'. Can I get my tenner refunded? ???
Look I understand he was a bit silly not getting travel insurance but he only got his ticket at very late notice due to being down the pecking order. He’s a young lad (and one of my best mates, I’ve know him since I was 10, and very good mate of @AstroSloth who went to school with us (who’s going to bollock him enough about not getting travel insurance 😂)) who we had to convince to come and enjoy a trip of a lifetime, and he did something silly, but he isn’t a big traveller. It was an unprovoked attack and in all honesty he saved my life. So please don’t be too harsh on him, he’s a good guy. I understand if you don’t want to donate it’s no bother.

Wow, that's shot up! Amazing :D
I put a tweet out and that got the word out wider.

Well shut it off imminently as we should now be able to put Andy’s losses right and then also thank the restaurant who helped Jack and Andy, as well as making a donation to a charity that works with knife crime.

Thanks to everyone who has helped out here.

Just to confirm I’ve paused donations. It almost doubled in an hour,

Can back up the fact that Andy is a top guy and am just glad to hear the both of you are okay.

Also I'm not gonna bollock him at all about travel insurance, I never brought it until I started working in it so absolutely cannot talk :ROFLMAO:

The gents in Revenge. Ask for Big Tommy. 😉
He goes to The Queen's Arms these days. When you move through the age brackets you move through the pubs. Most funeral processions start from the Bulldog.

It appears that it's doubled it's target. Is there some sort of kids football charity there similar to AITC (or whatever its called now) that the rest of the money could go to?

Excess will definitely go to charity. We thought a charity involved in knife crime prevention which would almost certainly be working with under privileged kids. We can check to see if AITC has a knife crime project or wants to set one up I suppose.

Anyway, Bozza and I are talking about the practicalities of the donations on our WhatsApp and we’ll post on here who got what.

The good news is Andy is now fully covered for his losses and can now go back into the shadows as we’ve probably given him more publicity than he wanted.

Unlocking.

URL is https://gofund.me/9308a941

Please note:

1) The target is £500. If that is met I will close it. If it is not then whatever we can do is fine. So...
2) There is no obligation at all. Donate if you want, don't if not. But please no binfestry. Let's keep this thread civil please
3) I've invited Andy to be a beneficiary. What that means is he'll add his bank details and get paid directly. I don't see a penny.
4) The banner on the page is SHIT. Photos are mandatory to set it up and it wouldn't resize my jpg properly. Deal with it.

We are specifically covering the following things:

Replacing Andy's expenses for stolen money, stolen AirPods, emergency passport.
A gift to the kind restaurant in Rome who assisted them.
A small donation to helpers and charities (@Bozza has suggested a knife crime charity which we will look into).

Just to be clear medical fees were covered by GHIC

Thank you to everyone on the other threads who suggested this. This was your idea. We're just helping to make it happen.

Cheers
Lovely stuff. Good to hear of helpful locals helping him out. There are dickheads everywhere but everyone I met in Rome was lovely. Glad he's OK and sorting himself out.

Before he goes back into the shadows I would love to hear a few choruses of "the other one" blasting out from the TV when I'm watching this afternoon. Can it be organised in the North Stand?🤣
From what I understand, Andy turned back and attacked the mob to help his mates and that deserves celebrating.
