Andrews for Barnes - why?

Why? As usual he did nothing when he came on other than get a couple of free kicks. He seemed to be stuck in the middle and only had a run when he went wide on the left which earned the free kicks. I thought the worst substitution was bringing on Solly March with 4 mins to go and the not giving the ball to him

but no one passed him the ball though, and when they did on one occasion it was a high ball, at least if he had a decent amount of minutes he would have caused some troubles.

I thought Kaz looked isolated without Bridge supporting him on the left. It's something OG must have top of his to do list I'm sure - get a quality left back.

Anyone else find this substitution bizarre? Losing with 20 mins to go and we take off one of our two strikers and replace him with a midfielder. That's what you do when you're trying to protect a lead, isn't it?

Probably because Barnes was playing crap and also missed a hatful of good chances against Newport. Not sure I would have put a midfielder on, but anything was better than leaving Barnes on.

Barnes hardly got to touch the ball. Seemed to me that Greer to Calderon and Calderon to Lopez made up about 50% of our successful passes. Buckley and Barnes seemed to have fewest touches. Agustien was quite involved, but passing was often incomplete, but had a good presence. Sorry, I'm getting off-topic. I agree with the diamond formation suggestion - Barnes was being bypassed too much as we were seeming to rely either on long balls to Ulloa or something to happen via Calderon or Lopez on the right.

I would back a lot of people to score before Barnes does, that would be my logic

Who's scored the most goals for us over the last 3 seasons?

that's the fella. You've got him. Same bloke that missed 4 great chances against Newport the other night. As for exquisite I think you might be overplaying that a bit mate!

Same Barnes that opened the scoring against Newport and has been subject to Premiership enquiries......

We had no width down the left hand side would have pushed Buckley out there and pushed Barnes up along side Ulloa. Far to narrow our play yesterday.

I thought Oscar liked to play with 2 wingers.....

I think we missed Orlandi to a certain extent.

What is the point of Spanish Dave?

Barnes did not ever look like scoring!

Is the right answer. He was awful against Derby; worst player on the pitch by a mile. But we should have another striker on the bench.

Andrews into midfield so that Buckley could go up front. Best finisher at the club so worth a try but couldn't leave midfield light. Effectively the substitution replaced one striker with an alternative one.

I wouldnt have given him the 15 minutes I would have sent March on an unknown quantity and Lua Lua like usual produced nothing when he did come on.

Yes we all said the same thing. He's worth an opportunity and surely can't do any worse than Buckley or KLL at the minute.

It only made sense to me when KLL was brought on for Ince 8 mins later
