I think Bozza may be concerned about the insinuation and possible future litigation :lolol::lolol::lolol:

Typo obviously! But I'm fairly sure that there was more to it than the subsequent game and sending off that we know about. Ashley Barnes did far worse in 12/13 at a time when we had one other fit striker at the club and were trying to put a run together to get into the top 6.

Edit: In fact so did Shane Duffy. He was fortunate enough to get away with it because we still won.

Are you sure, it doesn't sound like the Albion to be lite in the striker department

You can clearly see Bernardo spit out gum and go to kick it, hitting Andone.

But weren't they all after opening day?

My point being his path to Premier League 'stardom' looked fairly locked in under a new manager and playing style.

To then throw that away for a chance to go to Turkey was a little perplexing.

His loan seems to have been very much his choice and not the club's. He needs to get some perspective, which hopefully a few months getting back to fitness might provide/

I think "nowhere near as good" is well over the top. That would imply he's behind Connolly, which I couldn't agree with.
I would say there is little between Maupay and Andone, with Andone just shading it, in my view.

What aspect of play is Andone better than Maupay? Perhaps he’s quicker, but with the injuries he’s had to his knees I can’t imagine him being as quick as he once was and Neal isn’t exactly a slouch. All other aspects I would put Maupay ahead, passing, physicality, hold up play, finishing & work rate.

I think there’s a large gap behind Maupay and our next best striker, particularly with the way we play, if he was to get injured we would be in massive trouble as neither Connolly or Andone, when he’s available, offer the same attributes to the system we play.

This!

My feeling is that Andone was shipped out, because he would have been an unnecessary distraction for Potter during the first few months of the job.

A year or so later it will be a different story.
I'm sure Potter has the skills and the authority to turn him around now.

That’s a great shout actually, and I don’t think I’ve seen that theory mentioned before.

Makes a lot of sense. GP just started the job. His first season in the Premier League. He had enough to sort out re calibrating an entire squad to his methods.

He took a look at Andone’s hysterics and thought “I don’t need that shit right now”.

As you say though, different situation now. Second season, more settled squad tactically and player wise.

As I said I don't think there's much between them.
I think Andone's additional experience makes him a slightly better finisher.
He is/was slightly quicker too.
In all honestly, It's really hard to judge, as we haven't seen them both playing in the same system.

What are Andone's weaknesses that make you say he is a long way behind Maupay?

Andone would certainly be a welcome addition come January. Score a few goals and all is forgiven. He may then see a future with us, or we recoup the £5million I think we paid. If he's up for the challenge of getting back into the team then Maupay, Connolly, Andone, and Zeqiri as options will suddenly look very healthy.

Which is why I think the club have chosen to settle with what they've got, for now.

It's a short term risk.
In the current climate, it's better than having strikers on their books that won't be playing.

If Andone proves to be the uncontrollable mentalist that some have cast him as, then he will be moved on and replaced.
But that won't be happening until next season at the earliest.

If not we have enough strikers on our books.

Had a look at their stats.

Andone has played 944 Premier League minutes for us, scoring 4 goals from 20 shots (9 on target) in 23 appearances
Maupay has played 3130 Premier League minutes for us, scoring 14 goals from 108 shots (44 on target) on 41 appearances

Pretty similar stats from a goals per minutes perspective (Andone every 236 minutes/Maupay every 222 minutes)
They also have similar shot accuracy ( Andone 45% vs Maupay 41%)

The stark differences are:
Maupay has been given far more opportunity, with a great many more minutes per appearance, in a much more attacking team.
76 minutes per game vs 41 minutes per game.

As I said previously I think they are pretty similar with Andone just about shading it.
I suspect and hope that Maupay has more potential to improve due to his age.

In the least surprising news today:-

I find myself out of step with the negative wing of NSC.

That palace goal
The Huddersfield celebration.
His ability to kick off with the opposition, and teammates, alike.
I don't care about stuff said, TBH I admire a good quality bridge burning.

WHAT MORE DO YOU PEOPLE WANT?

.

Even more surprising I agree with you. I love andone. Seems like a character. Also seems popular with the players on social media and wants to play for brighton.

Hope he's back before Feb.

Happy dayz.

2 cracking efforts from Ali.
Izzy looking good and not getting a VAR penalty.
Clean sheet + an excellent long range save.

I doubt I was overly happy at the time.
But by jimminy I'd love a piece of that now.

May of had it updated, maybe club do hope to use him. But the updated pic is a FAKE!

I thought that looked exactly the same pose as his official one last year in the stripes, that is now removed from club and cant find anymore on google photos?

Looking at the outline of his head, it looks like a classic photo shopped head - so on who's body?

Easiest place to start is the collar, as Andones is in this pic buttoned up and almost perfect symmetrically - lots of players have it open or messy..... that narrowed it down, the start looking very closely at how every crease falls on the Andone shirt pic and case is closed - though Albion did very well to disguise it, as the body is from a thumbnail, (who Andone is photo shopped onto), when clicking on profile you dont see this pic expanded , just another. I expanded as much as possible before pixelation.

Look carefully at three creases on left to left of Nike badge (as you look), the left pinstripe and the way it kinks, the crease shapes on shoulders and above club badge, the creases on players right arm (viewers left), even the vein on players right arm (to viewers left), the way the A and M sits in American. the crease that run down from the A and darker creases from X P of Express

Case closed media team fakers.

Welcome Florin Molumby

What do you get if you cross an Irishman and a Frenchman ....... A Romanian!

Yep, that's def stuck on Maupays body in the club email.

Where the hell is Florin? They got Zeqiri and Welbeck done. Sicknote Izzy too..... Shirley if he was around they could've done him as well??

All a bit odd..... Wonder if Florin isn't actually here?

What are you smoking ??? Take away the Palace goal and what do you have a couple against relegated Huddersfield and Watford. Nowhere near Mauypay levels.

Bit of a leap to say he’s our best forward, but I always thought Andone posed a goal threat when he was on. He troubled defenders and his Shooting was more consistent than most.
I reckon he might surprise you when or if he comes back.
