I certainly do, this place is gonna be like a ghost town from Tuesday onwards.[emoji23][emoji23]
What do you expect the players to say?
They hate it?

The only reason I don’t agree with [MENTION=26802]martin tyler[/MENTION] is that I think he’s underestimating their value. He says £35m for the pair, I say double it at least.
Connolly was born to score goals. You don’t see kids play with his confidence and ability very often. He’s going to one of the top clubs for £50m at some point. He’s that good. His movement is unreal. Even the first goal, which some people are saying is effectively a tap in, was created by him getting across the defender and producing a really instinctive flick at goal that was too fast to hold. You can’t teach that..
Serious gonads shown by Potter getting rid of these two, but today was honestly the first day that his decision is looking the right one. We spent £35m on those two and for different reasons, they haven't worked out.
It is not just thatbConnolly and Maupay did the business today, but actually more important was that we didn't even use Murray. We can easily get by with these 3 until January imo.
Not sure about your numbers.
According to Sky sports:
Brighton have agreed a deal to sign Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone for a fee understood to be £5.25m.
Brighton have broken their transfer record to sign striker Jurgen Locadia from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
The Premier League side have reportedly paid a fee of about £14m for the 24-year-old Dutchman.
I make that about £19.25M![]()
Maybe you could add in Ali J who Potter clearly doesn't fancy. More millions squandered.
Yes, we all heard that one at the time, didn't we.You say the players purchased for him but ignore the fact that Hughton was part of the recruitment process and, I seem to recall, was given the final say
They are good, but....
And I expect to see a chastened Andone back here and playing in the new year. Of course, he could always go down he Kazim Richards route if he wants, but maybe he has a bit more sense. And GPot is still open to the idea or a return.
Anyway, we had a good win against Spuds today and have another game soon. This is what it's like in the PL. At some point, hopefully, we may get used to it . . . .
What have stonewall got to do with it? Are you suggesting there was something that Andone wasn't coming into the open about?Andone will never play for Brighton again. That’s a stonewall fact.
Totally agree with you. The second goal will steal the headlines but the first is the one that proves this boy is a natural goalscorer. Every single movement he makes in the 5 seconds leading up to the ball hitting the net are literally world class. And it’s his first ever start in the PL. Unreal!
You probably should have written that in the first place [emoji23]Also, when I say I felt the team was “run into the ground” last season, I’m obviously not suggesting he was happy to let us crash and burn. I have no doubt he tried his best until the end, nobody would deny he’s a perfect professional. My point is more along the lines that I believed his style of play was mentally and physically draining and it must have been hard for a bunch of players to stay motivated to play that way every single week. You could see that by the end of the season our legs and heads had gone and a big change was the only way we were ever going to get out of it. CH will be successful again somewhere else with a clean slate.
It really suited Maupay and Connolly too. Why the hurry to bring back someone who's no better, if as good?I was watching yesterday and thinking how the 4-4-2 with a strong press would really suit Andone. I've seen enough from him to suggest he could play a part in the future but Locadia looks like a players brother who has been given a contract out of sympathy coz these brothers do everything together
Andone will never play for Brighton again. That’s a stonewall fact.

I can see Maupay and Connolly as the future - Andone is the past. Re-couping some of the money we paid for him would be the best outcome.
