Ans Smith DID score

Gordon Smith's autobiography is shortly to be published.

Although he is pilloried by some because of the last minute chance in the Cup final, Smudger was one of the most graceful players to wear an Albion shirt during our stay in the top flight.

He scored two goals on his debut against Spurs, quickly followed by a hat trick at Coventry (after us being 3-0 down I think).

Although a midfield player, he did end up as a makeshift striker as Terry Connor was cuptied in 1983 and Peter Ward was recalled to Forest as Clough did not want him to play in a cup final.

The book will be available through Amazon soon

I expect I will go out and buy it. Just for the fact that it will have a few references to us.
