Ah and out comes the "out come the bed wetters..." thread. It's like the comforting stillness of a mid winter morning or the autumn dew drops on the petals of the last garden rose...there's something comforting about the certainty of NSC seasonal threads.

I'm sure he is under pressure.
Premier League managers are always under pressure.

Do you think he should be sacked?

6 home games this season
Chelsea
United
Liverpool
West brom
Burnley
Saints

On current form, i would say that's realistically a tough 6 points at best, more likely 4/5
We have 3pts from those games.

Is that really sacking form for you?

No not sacked, at the moment there are teams below us that are poorer, the next 3 matches will be very interesting, Leicester away, a tough fixture, Fulham away, don't lose, Sheffield Utd home, touch and go for a must win.

The way the club is structured it would be very difficult for any manager to step in and improve us, Potter has done okay but not much better than Hughton a lot of pretty football,

away performances are much better than under Hughton so we have seen an improvement, but how many times are we going to be saying out played the opposition really should have won?

hmmm which half of the season are you talking about?

Maybe you didn't go to Bournemouth/Newcastle/Cardiff/Southampton
We looked absolutely nothing like that team.

I was at three of those games. We just sat back, invited them on and hoofed it back to them in the second half. Then they scored and we woke up and played Potterball again. Very frustrating. However, I think it shows our limitations rather than a defensive intention from Potter. Close / press us high up, nullify Lamptey, attack March and score from set plays and you'll beat Brighton.

I don't think it's "bed wetting" to be concerned that we've won one game at home in nearly a year.

Sorry but don’t follow yours either
Bloom said top ten not me
Over 5 years you say well this is season 4 and no change in position .
Tippy tappy might look better on the eye but same old result What season in season improvements are you seeing look at his home record it’s embarrassing ffs that not improvement that’s relegated material

Nope not season 4 - I appreciate you just want to vent, but there's no need to make shit up.
The top 10 announcement was made after Hughton went. We are about 1.28 seasons into the plan.

Season on Season improvements from my perspective:

Season 1
10 men behind the ball - D&D throwing themselves in front of numerous chances inside the box to keep us up
points total staying broadly in line with keeping up tracker

Season 2
Start to try and play more attacking football - relative success - get humped by Fulham from being 2-0 up - revert to Season 1 tactics
points total staying broadly in line with keeping up tracker

Season 3
Complete change in philosophy - more attacking play aligned to some naivety against top clubs
points total staying broadly in line with keeping up tracker

Season 4
Competing with top 6 sides - still struggling with physical sides and teams setting up for the draw - but Bissouma/Lamptey/Lallana/Welbeck looking likely to improve this.
points total staying broadly in line with keeping up tracker

I agree that points wise very little has changed.
The difference between 2 seasons ago and now, is there is a plan to improve that and players capable of making that happen.

Nope

however the board does contain several threads talking about Potter being sacked for home form.
Clearly they mean home results and not form.

However:
Chelsea/United/Liverpool/Burnley/West Brom/Saints = 3pts

That isn't sacking form/results.
Could/should have been more, but that isn't Potters fault either.

All or any of the above... but here is a key indicator leading to my frustration with Potter at the moment. Why play White as a makeshift m/f player, when we have the very able Alzate sitting unused?

Brighton
Hasenhüttl

2018-19 joined club in December 2018: 5 home wins
2019-20 6 homes wins
2020-21 3 home wins

2018-19 Southampton finished in 16th position
2019-20 Southampton finished in 11th position
2020-21 Currently in 5th position

Potter
2019-20 5 home wins
2020-21 0 home wins

2019-20 Brighton finished in 15th
2020-21 Currently in 16th position

So not a lot in it, maybe?

At the moment Potter seems to be under no pressure.

And how many away points has Potter taken?

Not mentioning that?

You don’t think it’s an over reaction for all the Potter out comments, Potter should go threads, just because we lost a game to a good Southampton side, via a dubious VAR call?

GP kept us up last season, and we’re not even in the bottom 3!

If we go down, or become rooted to the bottom, then that’s a situation that warrants this kind of behaviour.

So yes, sorry I think the over reaction from grown men here is frankly embarrassing.

Yeah but likening that (arguably our worst half) performance to Hughton's final season isn't a fair comparison.
We couldn't even pass to each other against Cardiff and Newcastle!

This team playing together a while now?

Lamptey/White/Welbeck 30? games between them?
Delivering? yeah probably, too early to tell

Bissouma 60 albion games
Delivering? Hell yeah!

Webster/TrossardMaupay - 40 ish games each
delivering? - this one open to debate, but I would say yeah (licker obvs)

When you consider there was a 3 month long hiatus in this team's development, saying they've been together a while and should be delivering is a little disingenuous.
Judge them after 2 full seasons together

you're highlighting that individual are performing, while the team is not as a unit. but then the routine commentry after games is individuals not performing. this isnt a team built in the summer, addition of 3 quality players shouldnt be unsettling the balance or performance, and i dont think they have had anything but positive affect.

Lickers vs Wetters, Fight! Fight! Fight!

What are those of us in the middle called? The ones frustrated we aren't getting the results we could be but aren't calling for Potter to leave or Bloom to spend £50m on a new player?
