Eviscerating a club of its senior coaching staff 6 games into a season relegates this missive into the realms of platitudinous drivel.

Bruno wasn’t on the coaching staff when Potter joined. He effectively hired him to join the rest of his “crew” in June 2019.

Really??!!! Manager sacked in the morning and meeting lined up for the afternoon with the new one and you think that was the first time a discussion had taken place??

As we are seeing from our process to replace him things take a bit longer than that in football even if you have a target in mind.

My feeling is Potter and Brighton probably knew about the approach before Tuchel knew he was off as would take Albion to consider and accept permission for him to talk to Chelsea and Potter would also need to talk to family and sound out the backroom team on the move.

This was an incredibly swift appointment I cannot believe the first it started was the morning of Tuchels departure

Chelsea and Potter were having private chats in the summer supposedly it was about Cucurella and how he would fit in etc. or was it what player would you like from Brighton before we appoint you Graham.

If it was planned for a few weeks, Chelsea would have sacked Tuchel and took in Potter a few weeks ago and he wouldn't go to London twice in two days to negotiate.

I'm guessing that when Boehly said £60m and a five-year-contract for you and £xm or £xxm for the others in the staff, who you by the way is free to bring, there just wasn't much to think about and the whole thing was done swiftly.

Could be wrong obviously but considering the performance against Leicester, it didn't really give the impression of a side with a coach who had his thoughts elsewhere.

Saw this post on FB. Reflects my thoughts perfectly other than I’m not ‘hoping’ Bloom replaces him with a great manager (and back room team) I’m ‘knowing’ Bloom will replace him with a great manager and team.

I totally get and share the sentiments of frustration, anger and resentment expressed by some on here; I absolutely understand and share the more emollient responses to the open letter. It's a paradox.

But we can spend more time, emotion and effort attempting to deal with the emotion, rationalise it or disown it. But in the end we can do nothing about it.

That lingering disgust feasibly could contaminate and damage our prospects this season. And beyond.

Looking forward, putting faith in Tony Bloom and Paul Barber and getting behind the team is something constructive that we can do.

Let's get on and do it.

By the way, when Potter comes to the Amex I think booing either him or any of the rest of his team would be self defeating for a number of reasons. A deafening silence would express it all beautifully for me.

No emotion here. Complete indifference with a little contempt mixed in. I would be more than happy to boo him at the Amex as he is now just another pantomime villain and there’s been a few of those over the years.

Of all the party line nonsense you've trotted out in the past, this is possibly the worst take of the lot. Come off it, "Potter effectively hired him" - do you really believe that BHA club legend Bruno was hired by not Bloom, not Barber, but Graham Potter a few weeks into the job?


Anyway, it's a fair message from Potter as these things usually are, but it's written well and hopefully has some sentiment rather than a PR exercise. Having said that, it's very similar to what he said to Swansea fans and will no doubt be similar to the next time he walks from a job. Shame he didn't apologise for decimating the coaching staff too.

At least we can draw a line under it, but would be better to see one from Bruno.

It’s not exactly a secret the Americans liked what they heard from Potter and obviously made him their target.

I dont "like" conspiracy theories.

As with every other theory, some are more likely than others. I personally believe the world isn't flat and that Chelsea didn't take the massive risk of breaking rules and laws when there was absolutely no need for it - they could just have paid the £16m and get it done with. No need for secret discussions.

I don't have any personal interest in whether they met for coffee in 1998, in July or if it happened immediately because it really doesn't matter, not like the team went on a long losing streak while the managers head was elsewhere. So I'm just believing in what I find the most likely based on all the evidence there is. If Boehly knew he was going to sack Tuchel and appoint Potter, why the **** did he sign Aubameyang for Tuchel? Why did he wait weeks into the new season? It makes zero sense.

Chelsea is not particularly well-run, the club is leaking everything happening inside. From all the dressing room stuff and internal communications stuff that has leaked, I know more about Boehly and Tuchel than about my own mother. I don't see a world where they've discussed sacking the manager and discussing with a new one without it all leaking in public.

Boehly said Tuchels sacking wasn't a consequence of the Zagreb game. I call bullshit and believe he just didn't want to come across as fickle.

Firstly your not ever going to believe anything other than the sun shines out of Potters arse, otherwise you'd have to look what's around your ears.

Second, Boner is hardly likely to discuss his sacking with Tuchel. The discussions would have been between the two owners. As you seem to know everything, can you enlighten us what they discussed. And with even that, Potter was number one target in the media from day one even with Chelsea's history of going for big names.

And lastly, as pointed out by another, look at what we are going thru to replace the mercenary and his gang. No way has all that happened in 24 hours.

Absolutely.

Calderón was given a "chairman's" playing contract for an extra year.

It's pretty certain that Bloom was behind Bruno's coaching appointment in a similar way.
