If he's not going to go, then he quite simply should be backed to the hilt as much as possible.

Get him some better players than he has now, and as people have said, an experienced head like Lennie Lawrence in the coaching staff.

Hyypia hasn't given any indication he's a good manager other than some moderately alright play at the start of the season, but if he's here long term then let's just give him every resource we can in the hope he turns into one.

Good post and much too sensible for NSC right now.

Jones could be shuffled to first team coach, or some such thing, and we could get a Lenny Lawrence type to give Sami a helping hand.

I have been saying that for ages but have been slated as LL being too old. Why havent you? Until recently he was No 2 to Douggie at Bolton but comes from Brighton so please come home Lennie we need you.

Getting in an experienced person to tell him where he's been going wrong, and what to do next – yes, that could really shatter his confidence, and more importantly, destroy any credibility or authority he has with the players. Great! That's all we need.

Middlesborough tried doing this a few years ago; it failed.

Based solely upon the way he comes across and the way his players have been playing, that won't be an issue.

Anyways, I don't think anyone here is advocating doing this. Just wondering whether it's what the club will do. They surely can't leave him standing there alone, clueless and defeated?!

No, perhaps not. After all that is what usually happens to a scapegoat......

Having a scapegoat does us no good whatsoever. Especially when the wonder that is NSC has already turned on the board almost as much as the manager.

Probably best to clear the decks and start again from scratch.

If he really isn't going to sack Hypia, we need an experienced man to mentor him and put some passion into the club..........I give you Brian Horton

True, a scapegoat isn't going to help much. It was just that image that 'leaving him standing there alone, clueless and defeated' conjured up the image of the tethered goat, waiting for the tiger.............

That is fairly close to Sami's touchline look.
