i'd give this a very large slice of credibility as its what i read occured with Pulis, and some players too. its a gambit Parrish likes to play, offer terms informally then change things when the contract is written, not enough to make them walk away - though not always successfully.

There are a few rumours / stories about Pardew, especially at West Ham. I wont repeat them in case they are not true but if the one I have heard from people involved with the game as well as West Ham fans I know is true then all I can say is bloody hell, I'm surprised he has a job in football. However he did a good job at Newcastle despite the fans on his back and he scored one of the most important goals for palace that helped palace follow us a few years later to the FA Cup final. If palace go down however then being a Selhurst with sub 10,000 paying punters (allowing their inevitable two for 1 freebies) for Rotherham at home on a midweek November fixture will be a bit different to St James's Park! Newcastle have not always had amazing crowds despite what the press say, but they mostly have been well supported as they are also a one city club with the support of a region. Going to manage at Selhurst where finding a palace fan in the street will be a hard enough challenge will certainly be different for him. Probably a welcome change after the grief he had. If they also go down and then do badly in the Championship then he also wont face much stick because empty plastic seats dont shout abuse.

Nigel Adkins just pips it for me. I don't even care about the keep up comment, and I thought he took the stick well when he came to withdean, I just can't stand his stupid face.

Close. Very close second for me. But he's never had anything to do with that lot (especially not scored for them in a cup semi with the nauseating hysteria that followed) so AP all the way for me.

No but I thought it was common knowledge. But its not fair on him to repeat in case its not true. But if it is then well, I can see why some people have issues with him. Either way, palace wont care if he keeps them up. They all have self interest. Palace players and the club need to flight football. Nobody watches them if they go down, they are a club who need top flight football for anyone to watch them.
