North is directly up on the picture
You have a point I suppose;
North Stand should be North West Stand
East Stand should be North East Stand
South Stand should be South East Stand
West Stand should be South West Stand...
I guess that all sounds a bit messy though
The Ballad of East and West Stands
by Rudyard (aka Mr) Kipling (1865–1936)
OH, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,
But just thee remember where ever you doth sit, you are usually protected from rain, hail and sleet

It was decided that the stand for the home fans behind the goal would be the north stand like the Goldstone.
The other stands are named such merely for continuity.
Ok this has been bugging me for a while, don't shoot me down if im wrong, but the after studying a map it appears that our stands do not reflect their positions
The following is roughly what I concluded from looking at the map and would like to know other peoples opinions
The West stand is in the South
The East stand is in the North
The North stand is in the West
The South stand is in the East
I don't remember seeing the sun setting over the North stand. Case closed.

So am I right in thinking that all the stands could have 'ish' added to them & all would be well(ish)?
Right-ish.
