I agree - probably a major engineering job to squeeze another 5k into The Amex even so Falmer Station would probably be the stumbling block. But didn't we used to have a 36k ground once?

Tony Bloom could buy that retail park in Hove and rebuild our old 36k ground, job done. Proper railway station nearby, excellent bus service and reasonable access to A27 and A259. Keep the park and ride schemes. Plus various hostelries on the doorstep for pre and post match refreshment.

The Amex could be a posh home for the development squad.

I suspect that a lot of people get excited about expanding to 35 or 40 thousand as they anticipate an even more immense atmosphere.

However, the reality of larger grounds is either:

a) sell outs like the big clubs with large section of the crowd being day trippers/corporate deals and not interested in singing for the team
b) big empty spaces on the terraces whenever they're not performing so well

Personally, I think 30,750 is fine, I don't want to wait any longer for my pie & pint!

Without major structural work/changes what is the maximum capacity of our new ground?
Is there a plan to eventually move the seats closer together? A mini wrap around second tier in the north/south east corners and likewise the third tier in the north/south west???
Any additional seating expansion behind the North Stand etc
...Any information Stadium tours, inside knowledge etc greatly appreciated! :amex:

I think that we are possibly the only club that is at the moment still growing and with our catchment area we are capable of 40k crowds should we establish ourselves in the Premier League. Should this be the case then we must find a way of getting that many in say against teams like Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool et al.
