Yes, of course. I do understand that. I am not expecting to be able to buy a ticket. Not overly happy about it but worse things happen. Equally with travel around £11 as I live outside Brighton the cost is approaching £60 per visit.
I'd imagine there's no cap on membership numbers as the fee produces extra revenue for the club. This situation all hinges on the players receiving wages that are too high.

I've never taken out membership before, as I've generally been fine getting tickets for the three or four games I season I normally get to. I reckon I should rethink that now. I looked at the Bronze Membership benefits. While it says priority booking it also says T&Cs apply but I can't find any look to those. I assume it's just one ticket per member?

Why does the exceptional demand for tickets at the Amex hinge on players wages being too high ? Sorry, I don't see the link.

The reason the club charge for membership is so that "casual" fans who just want to rock up for the Man U / Arsenal games are at least behind in the queue for tickets to those who have actually stumped up some money and made a bit of a commitment to the club in advance.

3,000 Away Fans (Not all going to bring that mind you)
1,000 Players family, friends, Press, scouts, sponsors etc (Just a guess happy to be corrected)
1,000 Segregation (Just a guess, happy to be corrected)

only leaves 2,000 tickets for Joe Public with a priority membership.

I hope they activate the Season Ticket exchange for every game then!

Yes, I know many other PL clubs run similar schemes. I'd say it's more the mark of inflated player wages than success, and I'm not surprised Albion have the same. A ST is not something I want/need but I've always attended fairly regularly. I can either stop going or pay £25 . Say I buy 8 tickets, it's effectively added £3 per game, and imagine match tickets will start around £40

That is of course your choice but those that do chose to spend £25 will be at the head of the queue.

It will never happen but a nice gesture by the club would be to come up with a scheme whereby you get the following years bronze membership for free if you buy a certain number of single tickets throughout the year (15-20 games a season). This would then reward the true loyal fans that may not live near Brighton but go to as many games as they can afford/able to get to. It would also still mean that the JCL's or people that are only interested in the big games will still have to pay for the privilege of bronze membership.

I will have to take my chances on general sale as the Mrs has just given up work to go back to Uni to become a nurse so we are £12k a year down with a toddler at full-time nursery so I fear I won't be able to afford to go to more than a handful of games

I've bought bronze membership for 2017/18, but the last two previous seasons I've received it for free when I've purchased a 'flex-4 'pack. I doubt they'll need to do that this year!
Still kicking myself for giving up ST season 2015/16 due to work commitments.

The ST waiting list was just over 1,500 a month ago. You would imagine it's grown a lot since then.

Segregation - say 26 rows x 6 seats x 2 sides = 312. More for West Ham - spitting and coin throwing documented at their new stadium.

Thanks. Ordered my membership anyway. Will have to debate the value of doing so for my daughter, who could be off to university later in the year (couldn't persuade her to go to Sussex).

15-20 ? We'll only have 19 home league games anyway............
