[Food] Amex food quality and cost

Not Scrooge but why should I pay £4.30 for a pie that I, consider to be not very good. As I have said many times I consider them to be too dry with insufficient gravy hence I was tempted to buy one to see if they had improved that aspect of the mixture and whether I should reconsider my opinion of them.

My steak and ale pie last week was GUSHING with COPIOUS amounts of gravy. Bloody awkward to eat though

Good to hear so have asked wife to put a plastic spoon in my bag for the Bournemouth game so that I can try one. I will be reporting back after that game as the timing of it means that a pie is very probable.

Bar the pies which I am told are nice, I am very disappointed with the steamed burger, and the literal sausage in a bread roll. Quality poor, taste wise terrible, and price wise way too expensive.
Also nearly 2 quid for a small bottle of water - and no water fountains for refills.
Will be eating before attending games in future.
Do you like the food choices at the ground?

Ask the staff to refill your bottle or for a tap water, they cant refuse. Otherwise agree

Happy with the pies - also with their refreshinglyu edible format unlike the offerings at Selhurst which stubbornly stuck to their packaging. Can't fault our Croydon chums' musical selections in the away area, however.
A relatively premium lager in a plasic glass is a welcome change from most grounds too.

At Selhurst a poor excuse for a Greggs sausage roll is £4.......that cladding doesn’t come cheap you know

SR's and pies are very good, as is Harvey's, (although it's always been average beer IMO). so I don't begrudge lining the clubs coffers paying corporate caged prices.

I just wish they'd do more of the local stuff. I'd never waste that kind of money on the average fizzy,pond water and road kill in a bap. Each to their own however.

North stand sausage rolls are genuinely the best sausage rolls I’ve had anywhere in the wold. Absolutely superb. Criminal that they don’t sell them elsewhere in the ground. Pretty much any other food item at the Amex is poor, since the pies got Barberised. It’s also better than 99% of stuff served at other football grounds in the country.

Thats because you eat so many of the buggers that there aren't enough to go round to other stands. They used to have them in a cubby hole in WSL but no more. At least I haven't seen them recently.

Pies are good but not value these days. Rest is utter garbage. They used to get about £20 from me on pie, few beers and a bovril but these days get sweet F.A. as service and price just changed the mindset on match day experience for me. Similar for everyone I used to go with more regularly when lived in Sussex from what I hear.
