This was not my experience, nor ever has been... yesterday we arrived in WSU concourse about 14:25... average queue was 4-5 people... served in less than 10 minutes with two chicken pies, a balti pie, a tea, a pint of Harveys and a diet pepsi... happy days!

I have no idea what all the fuss is about.

Come over to the East then. It may be different in the West in which case they need to proritise to get the East area sorted out.

Leeds - but not the dirty bit
Uncle, please explain this oxymoron....' many have decided to give up eating at the ground.....
'I have noticed the queues getting much larger each game'.......

It can't be both!

It says the queues at the burger bar at the station are getting longer

i'd be more pissed off with greer getting a red to be honest ......18,000 + people at a venue , and having to queue for a pie /beer is not unique to sussex , actually.

I am in complete agreement with the OP, I thought the preloaded credit system on your ST was supposed to speed things up, unfortunately it makes no difference whatsoever because the staff are largely clueless soap dodgers. In the family stand they are supposed to sell kids meals but despite getting to the stadium at varying times between 1.30-2.30pm I have not yet been able to purchase one. Like others I have gone from spending 10-20 quid a game to spending zero and taking snacks and drinks myself for the kids. It's no skin off my nose if the club are happy losing this revenue!

Ed, why is it you make a point of disagreeing with every post I ever do and making it out to be wrong ?. Its starting to piss me off now. YOU are wrong on this one. I know you consider yourself to be a spokesman for BHAFC but this is CONSTRUCTIVE crticism so stick your head in the sand if you want and let profit walk away from BHAFC.

People feel free to take the piss, its what we do best on here. I have offered my experience and that of lots of others and offering sensible , well thought out suggestions to the problem. If there were 20 burger bars at the station, it would have a major impact.

I don't think anyone's saying that they don't expect to queue. But I think people did expect the situation in terms of supply and queuing time (better trained/experienced staff, smartcard system) to have improved since August, and I'm not sure it has.

I said to my brother as the half time whistle went yesterday 'shall we get a pint in?' to which he replied 'we wont get one in time'

THIS is the thing that bothers me the most and agree entirely with you Uncle S. Horrendously slow service. I got a half time pint at Southampton no problem at all, and at Reading again no problem. I know they have been there longer and have more experience but the club lost out on around 8 quid from me alone at half time during the Saints game!

I was in the East for the Burnley game... used the catering point near the South end before the game... pie and pint bought easily and enjoyed with no issues.

It was too busy at half time to get another drink, but if I had been really keen I would probably have got out promptly on the whistle rather than stood shouting abuse at the ref (in vain from 80 yards away!)

US - You make a very valid point and it echos something I said on the main thread on this.

However I note you havnt responded to Ed's response to you. He was clearly in agreement with you and highlighting that the caterers are seeing profit not customer service as key.

As for your dig about him - I can honestly say that Ed is a 'good' friend of the club. Not a fairweather friend or someone who only says what the club wants to hear but a proper good friend who is prepared to tell them things they dont like to hear when it is in their best interests to be aware and try to improve them. I have seen him do this many times over the last 14 years. The catering is one such area.

I have to say I have stopped relying on there being the food i want to eat at the ground so i eat before going.

As for the speed of service, it's never been a problem in the North when you consider the volume of people and it's certainly no worse than any other ground in the league.

I have never had a problem in the WSU. No veggie burgers but had to settle for a pie instead which is no great problem, didn't have to queue too much either, only delayed by someone ordering two Harvey's which had to be fresh poured.

I think the hyperbolic response to the catering on this board is ridiculous, I haven't had a problem at any game, and there were mobile Harveys units in the WSU.

Had to queue for 10 mins in the WSL after the game but I wasn't in a hurry so no problem, then went to Dicks and got served a fresh coffee very promptly.

WSU I section was ok yesterday, rolled in about 2.30 and only 5-6 deep in the Q's, a few minutes later walked off with a pint & 3 pies (not all for me!).

Certain things do cause bottlenecks though, in the adjacent Q someone ordered 3 Bovrils & a coffee and that took an age to deal with.

My burger bar comment was just one example. Of course that only has a minor impact but I dare say there are hundreds / thousands of people who eat somewhere else before the game as they have given up on the catering at the Amex. Lost revenue.

I wil say for the THIRD time this is not the experience in the East Stand.

Fair enough. Maybe Azure are complacent but BHAFC should not be.

The thing is, even if they don't care in the slightest for customer service, the caterers are seeing pure profit walk away every time someone decides not to make a purchase because the queues aren't moving or they don't have what they want in stock.
