QPR and Swansea both smaller and seem to be doing quite well

Assuming we sell out our home section every game, not taking into account the away fans, we would currently average above 15 Championship clubs - Reading (17,320) down to Scunthorpe (5,548).

Back of a fag packet economics alert...

From a financial perspective, prowess really depends on revenue streams. I would imagine that we would have greater income, from Amex, than a few with larger capacities. Whether that be due to prices, corporate possibilities, advertising and so on.

A stadium with 22,500 seats selling out at an average of £25 per game for the duration of the 23 game home season - £12.9m
A stadium with 27,000 seats selling out at an average of £20 per game for the duration of the 23 game home season - £12.4m

100,000 less fans through the door, but less ticket based revenue (ignoring matchday sales of beer/programmes/food etc).

I don't think a huge amount of attention should be paid to the disparity in capacities over a certain size, obviously once you get into the 30k + level, then there is going to be a marked difference. Although Sheffield Wednesday are selling exceedingly cheap season tickets in an attempt to fill their large ground.

I'd rather pack out a 22,500 stadium than only sell half of a 30,000
How does that work,so if we had a 30k seater we would get 15k,yet a 22,500 is full:wink:

Will have to be patient with a small capacity although many of us knew it will be a bit on the small side, but that was all part of the plan to get falmer up and running.

Far more interesting would be average attendance [already posted elsewhere] vs capacity [per above].
Then we can see EMPTY SEATS stats - that would be far more interesting.

Based on current numbers for the championship it doesn't appear to be a major issue. Very few clubs get anywhere near their maximum attendance even with their highest gate. We will be up there in the top ten at (probably) an average of 19000 or so (allowing for no-shows and away clubs not taking their full allocation).

Eight Championship sides - Derby County, Leeds United, Norwich City, Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest, Leicester City, Sheffield United and Hull City - are all averaging over 20,000 per home game ensuring The Npower Championship averages 17,109 for the division as a whole
