Haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere on here... there's a story on Sussex Live about the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Amex:
CEO Paul Barber announced the club has plans in place to mark the 10th anniversary of the stadium this summer.
Brighton's deputy chairman said it should happen on the weekend of Brighton Pride, which was scheduled to take place on August 7-8, however, that event was cancelled due to uncertainty over Covid-19.
Despite that blow, Barber says the plans they have should excite Brighton supporters.
"First of all we are hoping with government restrictions lifting we are going to be able to play a prestige friendly here, that is all I would say at this stage, over the weekend of what would have been Pride, the date specifically is yet to be agreed," he said.
"We are hoping we will have the majority of the stadium open, if not all of it open and as the 10th year rolls out then clearly the 10th anniversary will bring about some celebrations and some things that we have got planned that hopefully the fans can enjoy, buy into and be part of. It's incredible this stadium has been here for a decade.
"It's gone very quickly. So much has happened in that period, mostly good. There have been bumps in the road but what a period it has been for the club at the Amex."
This has got supporters excitedly speculating who could be involved in this prestige friendly.
Some are dreaming of glamour ties against Barcelona, seeing stars such as Lionel Messi, and more.
Others are holding out for a chance of seeing Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo, or perhaps Paris Saint-Germain.
And a select few have proposed a match against sides with less acclaim to their name.
Interesting that he talks about "some celebrations". Wonder if a Brighton gig for Royal Blood is on the cards; I've often seen Ben the drummer in the West Stand, and their newly announced tour strangely avoids playing in Brighton...
