Any Gmail users noticed that the ‘Bin’ is now called ‘Trash’ ?

I think I’ll ‘go watch’ a ‘season’ of something on Netflix to calm down, or maybe a ‘movie’ ...

Perhaps inevitably, it turns out the first known use of trash in written English was in 1529, and derives from "trasch" and other similar words which referred to fallen leaves.

Yes. And talking of 'fallen leaves' we all know Americans refer to Autumn as 'Fall' - and that's an old English word as well, not an Americansim. Germanic or Norse root apparently. 'Autumn' is the poncy upper-class word for it brought over by the French.
