Yeah this. I do not like most Americanisms generally(Ironic WTF on the thread title) but that report just seems bizarre even by their standards

I was watching some soccer on TV and nearly fell off my bed when the 'announcer' shrieked the following with enthusiasm
"it was a shut out kick save from a point blank solo" WTF
the keeper saved a 1 on 1.
