Am i wrong for wanting England to lose?

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Another one here. I am completely indifferent to England. I was entertained by other teams ahead of England in the last World Cup. Sure, Brighton are not always entertaining, but I feel close to them. England football team?

But when it comes to a World Cup or European Championships you will be moaning when we get knocked out to Portugal in yet another penalty shootout.

With any luck we won't make it through to the final stages and I won't have to be pissed off with the massive hype beforehand and the total ineptitude on the pitch during the finals. The players earning an obscene amount of money without the ability or nous to think for themselves on the pitch and managed by a man who won't play to our strengths, just like the last one to whom we are still paying an even more obscene amount of money than the players.

You're wrong I've had it with England in Championship finals. There wasn't much to moan about being knocked out by Portugal either, except Rooney's suspect character blowing our chances by behaving like the thug he is. You probably blamed Ronaldo for the sending off though I bet :lolol:

I predicted that we'd get to the quarters of the World Cup and limp lamely out blaming someone other than oursleves. I was right and I knew I would be because that's what we're nearly always do. And we'll do it again at the Euros. Why? Because we never learn, the management is conservative, uninspiring, undynamic, unwilling to change, and in the thrall of the cult of the footballer - it has been for years and years. That's why I don't really care about England - it's same old, same old.

Anyway as I am heading to Tel Aviv on Friday I would hope that we could manage a win so as to give us a chance of qualifications for the Euros!
Don't forget to drink beer in one of the 3 British style pubs in Tel Aviv:

1. M.A.S.H at 275 Dizengoff st. here is their website, here is their forum

Watch a video about M.A.S.H pub.

2. Molly blooms Irish pub at 2 Mendele st.

3. Mike's place at 86 Herbert Samuel st.

The last 2 pubs are in the area of HaYarkon street, near the beach and near the hotels. The M.A.S.H pub is in the north part of HaYarkon street.

Watch a video from today about the first English fans who arrived to Israel.

Watch another video of the English fans who arrived to Israel (in the middle of the page)

Watch Chris Skader talks (in the middle of the page)

My prediction is that England will win in an advantage of 3-4 goals.

As much as i want McClaren out, i'd rather there was some scenario where he was sacked and we still qualified.

Of course,we could win,and then Steve is whisked off*
by Mossad, never to be seen,EVER again.

*That's whisked off.

The ideal scenario is for us to win 1-0 but with an abysmal performance and the winner coming from an own goal in the 14th minute of stoppage time. McClaren will still get the stick !!

Possibly - but i can't get away from the fact that the best way to get rid of him quick is to lose. The again i do worry that Simsters earlier point regarding him not being fired until he's f***ed up our 2010 campaign may be right.

Our hotel is in Hayarkon Street so we will no doubt come across those pubs!

Those pubs/bars are listed in the Three Lions guide, plus "The Pub (Scotts)" in Hayarden St near the opera house and "Joeys" in Allen Street.

Joey's Bar is at 42 Allenby st. is a very small and compressed dance pub with loud music.

Have a nice visit, I recommend you to try Goldstar beer, it's a very known Israeli dark lager beer, taste good. I remember times in which there was an English who worked as a barman in the M.A.S.H. He was living in a flat above the pub.

Yesterday I saw a movie about a taxi driver in London, the actor was Timothy Spall, the movie was about his life as a taxi driver and the hard life of his family, the English barman in the pub looked like Timothy Spall. I remember that I saw the game of England against Sweden (I think) in the world cup of 2002, when England won 3-0. I remember when this barman put a flag of England at his veranda and he also had a bulldog that used to bark that day.

In 1995 there was an English babe that wroked as a waiter at the M.A.S.H. I remember one day in 1995 that I went to this pub and saw her with her tight leather pants, she had a smooth black hair and she was a babe.

In 2002, when I was in the match against Sweden in the 2002 world cup, there was a blond English babe that worked as a waiter also, she wore a long hat of wool like a dinosaur that gave her back the shape of a dinosaur.

Dont think they will, the press dont like him so they will never praise him

A lot of the press do like him and are being very kind to him i'd say. If Sven had these results he'd be absolutely torn apart. The fact that McLaren's english, got rid off Beckham and has the support of Venables mean's he's had a very easy ride

I think the general consensus as well is that he was wrong to get rid of Beckham
