Am I the only person who dislikes Bolt?

they're really good mates so I very much doubt Bolt was trying to disrespect him in any way..........in fact Bolt is very complimentary about Blake

The way i see it he talks down to him (yes i know he is smaller).

No need for it IMO.

why do people always want sporting greats to fail? why not just enjoy someone being f***ing amazing at their sport?!

i find it a very odd outlook on life..........probably born out of jealousy

It's because their lives are insignificant they cannot stand greatness. There's a fine line between arrogance and supreme confidence. Bolt is always polite when interviewed and you could see what his team mates thought of him in the relay.

This-

I was soooooo pleased when David Rudisha broke Seb's 800 metre record,so pleased & for me the absolute highlight of the games as far as a race goes-to think our very own Andrew Osagie finished last in a time that would have won Gold at the last 3 Olympics-WOW

Anyway my old man said, why are you so happy, that record was British.

My reply?

You have to appreciate class when you see it,and we will have to re group, and try to better it again in the future..

Bolt's 'arrogance' extends just as far as his confidence allows.

Every sport needs a showman, Bolt ticks the boxes and backs it up with results.

Seems to be a lot of Jamaican plastics in the crowd though!

You say he is always polite but when you watch him you will find his eyes looking everywhere but the interviewer.
There no doubt he is good, but you can't deny he is a cocky mother f***er.
Give me Mo or Laura Trott everyday and as i said earlier, Team GB is on their shirts.

Some people really seem to dislike people who exhibit personality when going about their business. I personally love a bit of a showman, it makes things a little more interesting and he certainly has the goods to back it up.

i think bolt is a class act. you have to have that inner arrogance to be a sprinter.. and ... i cant think of any of the usa past winners who i have taken to. THEY were really up their own arses....bolt, however seems a good guy, an entertainer and i bloody love the way the usa do not dominate anymore!

I really like him! Yes he's a showman, but that's all part of the event and the spectacle. Besides, all his 'fawning' isn't done in an arrogant way. Oh and 6 golds and 3 world records in two Olympics makes him one of the greatest athletes ever.

Bolt is NICE to people and probably one of the top 20 track and field athletes of the modern Olympiad. He talks to the little people just doing their jobs, just minutes before breaking world records, then he plays up to the cameras. He transcends sports, race and creed. He inspires people. He is the best at what he does.

He is a legend.

My mother-in-law doesn't like him, she thinks he's threatening. She really likes Blake though

A magnificent athlete but arrogance does not equal charisma. Most certainly not the "star" of the games, all the fawning gets on my nerves!
Loved the olympics btw but Hoy, Farah etc are much more likeable.

I'm with you. I have much admiration for his achievements but his posturing is pathetic. There have been plenty of performances equal to his over the last two weeks, by athletes who've shown a shedful more class.

I don't know, he always seems to come across as a decent bloke to me, don't get the arrogance thing at all, always seems to have time for people. Anid I liked the Virgin Media ads too

Usain Bolt has the utmost respect for his competitors, his hosts (he couldn't thank the people of Birmingham enough for their warmth and welcome), and the whole history of his sport. He mentions these values, plus the thanks for the people who have helped him during his career constantly.

If that's anyone definition of 'arrogant', or doesn't like his showmanship, I'd suggest the issues are absolutely nothing to do with Usain Bolt...

Am I the only one to find Tom Daley overrated?

Yeah you're right, someone who by the time they are 18 has won National, European and World titles is overrated.

I used to think he was a little arrogant but not any more. He just seems to love live and seems to have time for anyone.

Also a gold in every olympic event he has entered...amazing
