Am I the only one that thinks Kaz will have a breakout season?

Bored of saying it... But last night again showed there are few players who can do what Kaz does. Very few wingers would've got a shot away let alone score from that position. Yes there are times his style doesn't suit - namely last night he checked back when put through and allowed 3 defenders to get back when most normal wingers would've taken the ball in stride and got round the back - but that's why he's unique. Can't believe anyone would even consider selling one of our few attacking fireworks...!

One of our few Attacking fireworks .....exactly !!!

Top game Kaz keep them coming.

This is the funny thing with Kaz. He does his stupid stepovers which don't lead him anywhere and when he has to think about his options, he has no idea what planet he's on. But when he has to run on instinct he does things like his goal yesterday and his goal against Norwich, and the others.

It doesn't change my opinion, he's not good enough if we want to get promotion but if could be more instinctive he could be effective. He still excites people around me, unlike me they've not given up hope in him.

Pointless step overs ?... He might use it all the time but it works. He tricks his way around and through players like no other player we have. He also scores. A fully fit Kaz will win many matches.

Before his injury last season he was starting to look like the player we hoped he would be. Was excellent last night and caused them untold problems now let's see if he can stay at that level for a sustained period

Not sure this will be breakout season for him, what we saw last night was much of the same from him, slowing the game down, same step over, shoot on sight, lack of awareness of where he should be, not aware of others and unable to see when and where he should be running off the ball. Seems a little slower also. He's had too many opportunities to demonstrate that he can improve, he will be dealt with by decent fullbacks this season.

They are pointless because they don't go anywhere, they're show. His trick is pushing it past and running incredibly quickly over 10 yards. His "stepovers" slow him down and thats when he loses his effectiveness. He needs to embrace the purely instinctive part of brain - thats the good player. When he has time, he confuses himself - like against Sevilla when he randomly fell over instead of either shooting or feeding Baldock.

 Thank you, I guess.

 You're welcome.

I stand by it as well. We all know what he does well - hit the ball really really hard. He pops up with some goals, every now and then an assist but he's on the pitch. He should be offering SOMETHING or other, if I found myself out on the pitch I'd like to think that I'd contribute something every now and again as well.

I'm more than happy when I'm wrong, but I'll never stop having an opinion.

We all know his final ball isn't good enough, he falls over too much, he stop his runs because he isn't actually that fast. He needs to improve. But 'properly rubbish' isn't accurate IMO.

Its pretty simple I think and Hughton knows it. The change of formation and getting the defence another 10-15 yards further up the pitch. If you can get Kaz picking up the ball 35 yards from the oppositions goal rather than his own then he's going to be a huge threat against any team in this division.

Despite I the fact that I think that the step overs do effect the opposing defenders.

I also feel there is probably more to his step overs. You might find it mentally unlocks his creativity, it lets himself go. Let's him have the freedom and fun to improvise. A quick roll of the dice, gamble to shake things up. It works, it disturbs.

It seems to disturb you.

I agree that one of his most effective tricks is when there is a defender on top of him and yet he quickly taps it past them and using his acceleration gets beyond them. This is then topped off with probably our most powerful shooter at our club that I can remember of the top of my head.

Im glad he played yesterday and scored the only goal.

I'm glad he listened TO ME, and stayed on his feet last night.

He went down early for a soft free kick and I feared the worst.
But even with that ref I thought he did really well and properly scared Notts Forest.

I think they're done to buy him some more time - stop the defender from just nicking the ball. His technique is v different but works well imo

I hope you're right, but he's properly rubbish. Him and O'Grady, absolutely terrible and a waste of wages we could be paying to footballers of Championship standard.

Just waiting for O'Grady's time to shine now. My opinion hasn't changed, but all the time LuaLua's in the team and scoring goals, bounce away!

We'll see where this thread is at the end of the season.

I'm sure we'd all love to see this thread at the end of the season with a picture of Kaz holding the Championship trophy over his head while Calde and Zamora pour Champagne all over the place, but either way he's got us off to a great start :albion2:

I am jumping on the bandwagon here.

Love Kaz he is an exciting player (when he wants to be). Here's hoping he can get some consistency and keep banging em in.
