Top bloke - liked the club, tryer, contributed at a vital time. Not right for now though - can't see him sustaining quality over a season. Reminded me of Rod Thomas. So I'm in the 'no' camp aswell. :nono:

Agreed Brixtaan, we need a troublesome awkward forward. The type that season after season has steamrollered through our defence creating panic and normally a goal (Sheff Utd do alright with players like that and look where they are). We haven't had one for years (Mickey Small) and I think for Div 2 a player like that would be perfect.

Whether or not it's Rougier I think SC will find us a player like that before KO.

'Fraid he's too much of a donkey. He had a charmed period with us which he'll never repeat.

Let's move forward-not backwards and for me Rougier is going backwards. Great guy with loads of heart but would be a financial burden for the length of any contract he'd get.

Thanks for the memories......

I'm with you as well. The flipside of Rougiers good performances were hitting the discus nets with a cross at Withdean, His handballs against Ipswich and not to mention the Salmon like leap at Stoke followed by the header to the corner flag when he was unmarked from 6 feet.

The performance away against Gillingham was as inept a forward display as I saw all season.

the 'header' at stoke was one of the funniest things ive ever seen!!

he could be a good foil? foyle? for knight though?!

100% Rougier !!

Clumsy, oafish, innacurate, cumbersome but troublesome !

Perfect for the 2nd.

Defiantely, can cause chaos in the 2nd Div defences and create chances for a good finisher like Leon Knight to put away. Put it this way i'd rather Rougier upfront than Wilkinson and (sorry) Chris McPhee! Just for the added experience at least.

Plus i've missed the good old renditions of LA LA LA ROUGIER!!!! I was walking around the house for days singing it after the Millwall game.

Sign him up - just watch he will be mustard in the 2nd Div.
Agree with Brixtaan, he will be a troublesome striker in the second div.

Gillingham and Stoke. Two abysmal performances in 4 days. Between them, they said it all. I'd much rather play McPhee or even Hart up front than the Rouge. He's just not good enough.

Don't you think if SC was going to sign him he would have done so by now, so he could be training and getting some pre-season games under his belt ?

He obviously doesn't want him.

He would be OK as a second string striker but we must be looking for someone with a decent record to partner our new 'pint sized' Chelsea import.

As apposed to who...? Everybody played abysmal in those 2 games. What you didn't mention is that Rouge won us the games against Milwall, Rotherham and got us the draw against Ipswich with his goals. Let lose upon Division 2 defences and the Rouge would be in his element!

No way. hes not up to par Im afraid.
How many threads are we going to have on him !
Its clear SC knows he isnt good enough otherwise the deal would have been done by now.

SC knows it, I know it, Why so many people think hes good enough is beyond me.

Move on...please

I would back signing him but NOT until we have a potential goalscorer on board. Rougier is indeed troublesome and could complement a genuine forward but he will never score enough goals to be your foremost transfer target when you have no-one else up front:glare:
