I'd be delighted if you're right on this. I didn't include him in this list because he's been disappointing in the most recent games he's played. That's not surprising given his age, the level of the PL, and the fact that he hasn't worked his way up the leagues as Ben White has for instance.
If we could get c180 minutes out of him over the next nine games, and he chips in with two or three goals, that'd set us up well for survival.

Yeah, we'll have to see.

For me those performances against Newcastle away, Spurs at home and then Everton at home didn't come from nowhere. I know some teenagers come into professional football and fly straight away (Rooney, Owen, Mbappe) but this isn't the norm. I think we then mismanaged him a bit by starting him week in week out, sometimes by himself up front, when the team was having a dip in form. It didn't help that Ireland were crying out for goals and threw him in as the saviour of their campaign as well - a pretty much impossible task.

If you look at that lot, there is a lack of pace and a lot of similar players. Also none of this lot naturally plays on the right side of midfield. Should be a bloody good in the engine room but then consider who they are up against every week. It’s a tough league.

Wondering that we might see Lamptey on the right wing in front of Montoya at RB for any of the “big teams” to allow better doubling up

Good call that. It was stated earlier in this thread that right attack is one of our weaker areas, this might be a way round it. Be interesting to see if he can outrun Sadio Mane.

Well, Connolly's done well since the restart as far as I'm concerned so, well done for putting me right on this.
