I have had 2 of the 250000 prescriptions for anti depressants in the Brighton area in the last year mate so, yes. I am trying to get off them as I do not want to have to rely on a little white pill to get me through the day.

If it DOES get you through the day, that can only be a good thing surely? You never hear diabetics saying they don't want to have to rely on Insulin or Asthmatics say they want to pack in their Ventolin. If it works for you, I'd say stick with it.

I understand what you are saying but its a personal choice for me. I want to resist staying on these things. Having read about withdrawal experiences of people from Citalopram they are horrendous so I would rather get off them after 10 weeks than 10 years. I have been having some bad reactions in the last week which seem to be consistant with what a lot of other people experience. I would not advise people not taking them or disregarding them but for me they did not seem to make much difference.

I was on Citalopram for a while. Didn't seem to do bugger all bar make me hungry. Fluoxitine seemed to work better without the side effects. There's tonnes of drugs anyway so you can change around.
