Losing 1-0 at Swansea on a wet Tuesday night was pretty miserable.

Definately that day at Palace, though the day started so well, noisy Brighton fans everywhere at all stops i.e. Victoria, Bexley Heath, Selhurst etc.

getting off at selhurst and 5000 albion fans being escorted to the stadium, remember seeing pretty much every person i'd ever been to games with i.e. old mates from the goldstone / Gillingham etc in the crowd.

And then trying to get out just after the fifth goal went in when they shut the gates!

That pitch announcer shouting ANDY............and the crowd shouting back JOHNSON! that will haunt me forever!

One time at Gillingham we left at half time when we were 3 - 0 down.... driving back and getting to Pease Pottage services and finding out it was 3-3, gutted..never went back to Kent after that!

Probably getting 3 minutes away from Halifax's ground only to find out the game had been cancelled.

1993 Reading away lost 3-0 and I don't tink the players cared. The 5-0 at Selhurst had two good points, the announcer shouted ANDY but the crowd did not as expected shout JOHNSON as the "goal" was disallowed, and Paul Brooker got sent off, who said he was a fairy.

Aside from the obvious 0-5, probably Yeovil a couple of years ago when we lost 0-2 I think (Jones going totally spacko at us for some unknown reason). Shit ground in the middle of nowhere, utterly tortuous journey there and back, and an hour to get out of the poxy car park despite it being a pissy little crowd of about 4.5k. I chuffing HATE Yeovil. I will never go there again.

If that's the game I'm thinking it was, then wasn't it the week before we had Man Utd away in the FA Cup? It did look like everyone was simply playing NOT to get injured, and as a result, didn't look like they had their minds on that day at Elm Park at all. I think we were 3-0 down quite early, as I certainly remember having a discussion about whether we should leave (it was certainly before half-time) and go back to the pub.

Poor BAG, we dragged her along to that one with us didn't we? No wonder she never came to another away trip with us.

At least you didn't drive, I had to tolerate that journey without even the benefit of some booze in my belly. Actually, I have an upside about that day (apart from the charming company of BAG of course), wasn't that the pre-match pub that provided the most ENORMOUS lunch I've seen since Carlisle. Even Steve was struggling to finish it. The plates were almost bigger than the tables.

Reading Elm Park, early 90's.

3 or 4 nil down I doubt we even put two passes together.
One of the very few times I ever left early, I think we were out of Berkshire, at the final whistle, and Mr Wendal was the only record they played on the wireless.

The whole day was a shower of $hit.

West Brom, late 80's, coined at the train station and we lost. Nice curry in Birmingham though so every cloud. That 0-5 at Palace seems like a bad dream, I've sort of erased it from my memory, I didn't expect to win that day anyway so it didn't hurt as much as it should have done. Was that Coppels first away match in charge?

You've obviously never been to Yeovil Aerodrome

Got to be that place near Croydon. Played off the pitch, locked in, piss taking pikeys, coach's hidden away somewhere miles from the ground, being sent up and down the hill, 'to where the buses were parked,'. Threaten with arrest for asking some old bill, what part of "I dont want to catch a f***ing train, dont you understand"! Not a good day at all.

Cheatersfield when we lost 1-0 in the 96th minute or whatever is was.
Charlie getting sent off for nothing.
Arrogant bunch of tossers.
Brighton fans stupidly fighting eachother outside the ground thinking the other was Chesterfield.
Getting thrown over a wall.

Halifax circa 2001. Miserable and long journey up there. One nil up then our former squaddie come striker David Cameon, think he should of stayed in the army, staggered on to the pitch and fell around a lot. Two late goals later and with the noise of cheering, abusive young Halifax fans ringing in are ears we made are way home.
Quite pleased I have Halifax as a ground I have visited however, so not all bad!

5-0 all day long, I went with a Palace supporting mate who f***ed me off so badly I swung at him on the train home, missed, fell over and got jumped by 2 other Palace fans. i can't begin to tell you how much I dislike that football club...
