All this "getting behind the team" stuff. It's just meaningless bollocks

It's really starting to grate with me. I've always been behind the team, always will be. I'm fed up with the implication that by questioning what the hell is going wrong that I'm disloyal. The club/manager/insider/Naylor whoever seem to be hiding behind this line and it doesn't wash. Being a loyal Albion fan and requesting that the club address the fans regarding what has gone wrong is not mutually exclusive. Sorry, Mr Naylor and Mr Adams but I'm still going to be here supporting the boys in blue and white long after you've stopped reporting or managing them so let's not start a game of who's the best supporter of the club.

We, the fans, have been there week in and week out cheering on the team. We've BEEN doing our job and some of us are just sick of getting bullshit team selections, bizarre tactics, unbelievable substitutions, a puzzling manager sacking that has clearly had a retrograde effect on our fortunes and let's face it the footie has been absolutely dire. We will continue to be there but in ever more dwindling numbers because of what the club/the manager/the team are doing and the downright refusal of the club and manager to address those concerns publicly.

A little bit of honesty and esprit de corps from the club right now is what is needed, not a load of old flannel/silence that we're currently getting. It's getting beyond a joke.

I would say that we have been doing PART of our job, by turning up. We COULD domore, by following the example of the Family Stand. It is a shame.... My first game (as a plucky ten year old) folllowed the Goldstone dittties, but now it seems that the Family Stant  ) lead the way.

100% true buzzer and today adams has said he is losing the faith in the fans....

Now is the perfect time for us to shove his f***ing stupid "keep the faith" get out of jail free card at him.

Very good post Buzzer, athough I would say that the supporters can still get behind the players as much as possible. If you don't think they're trying then fine, but I've felt on few occasions that this season has been down to a lack of effort and more the sheer incompetence of those supposedly managing them.

The WHOLE club, and I mean literally every single employee, has let us all down massively this season.

You do post some bollocks sometimes.

Not only every single employee, but "literally" apparently.

I hope the groundsman, the physio and the bloke who draws the lines on the pitch feel your pain.

.. oh and I totally agree Buzzer. The PR offensive on here over the last few days has been ridiculous, they'll be sending Valentines cards and postcards to us next week, if not a heart rendering bedtime story about a team we has YEARS ago.

Clearly I meant football related. Why would I be interested in the groundsman? Name me one football related employee who hasn't been a let down. Even our very best players haven't been up to what they're capable of.

Quite clearly you said literally "every employee", quite clearly you said "The Whole Club" I didn't refer to what you meant - I clearly refereed to what you typed.

Not my problem they ain't the same thing....

The bit I find grating, is that 2/3 years ago Dick Knight said the youth team would be the future for the Albion.

Wilkins played to that idea almost 100%. Result..7th place.

Suddenly, this season, Mr Knight appoints a manager, who has clearly stated by his actions on signing so many loan players (and presumably with Mr. Knights agreement)....that the youth are not the future of the Albion. Result........20th place.

Hardly a recipe for installing confidence in the team that is left now, when the loan signings have returned to their home clubs.

What about Fozzie? A 35 year old striker who has 10 goals aready who never gives up? He got 19 goals last season and there's no reason why he cannot reach that target again.

What about Hinshelwood who got over a career threatening injury? He has been out so long and i didn't think it was looking good for him when he was loaned out to Lewes. He was called back into the squad and hasn't looked back. Now a first team regular.

The biggest failure is McLeod. There is no excuse to being fat all season even if he has been injured some of it.If your out for a while then it's only common sense to look ater yourself and watch what you eat and drink. This fat issue was with him at Colchester so does he care?

And yet those youth team players have been continually criticised for the past 2 years. Fraser, El-Abd and Cox have all taken a hell of a lot of criticism.

I think the youth team took us as far as it could, and it was time to combine that with the necessary quality to challenge at the top of the division. I believe players like Thornton, Johnson and Savage all showed that they were well capable of this early on in their loan spells, I don't know what happened after a few weeks of the MA brand of coaching.

I agree with Algie though, I'd say the only player I can think of that has consostently been quality, as well as consistently given everything for the team is Forster. His age is sadly catching up on him, but at 35 he's putting a lot of our senior players to shame.

That's one thing that particularly upsets me too. It was one of the things the club had every right to be proud of.
