It would be lovely to think that our next Mitoma has seen the stadium, seen the fans and felt the atmosphere ànd thinks " I want to play here " ....

Well I enjoyed my brief return to NSC but if this has been taken so out of context and the original thread title was so offensive that it needed to be changed I’m off.

Don’t mate - it was clear you weren’t being offensive and just talk like a lot of normal humorous people. I think some were just worried it could be misconstrued - not a slight on you … 👍

Yeah thanks, just to clarify, this is an absolute loving life post, us getting on the global stage is giving me… well I’m struggling to describe…

Yeah I’m pissed
In fairness, this is the kind of pissed thread I prefer.

Not sure anyone has. "All them lovely Japanese fans in the East Lower". Was that yours? I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

I lived in Tokyo in 2002/3. We were on the train over today and there was a Japanese family of three opposite us. I gathered enough from my taxi and kitchen Japanese to work out that the kid was SO excited and was practicing "MITOMA". He did think the astro pitch with the junior game going on was the ground until his mum pointed out the Amex though.

Anyway. They're great. Respectful and polite people who love Mitoma, love Brighton and spend shitloads of cash in Uncle Tone's Tat Store.
I think my Japanese is good enough to know if someone is practicing 'Mitoma'. It's the only Japanese word I know.

With the Amex hosting Japan's defeat of South Africa in the 2015 RWC, there's plenty of reasons why Japanese tourists love Brighton.

"Mister can you tell me where Mitoma's gone ? He's a japanese boy"
"He was on the wing but now he's cut and run, he's a japanese boy"
"I've been skinned by japanese boy..."

Two right infront of me in orange tops and one a bit further down in the stripes in the NW.

The ones in front went mad when Mitoma scored. Lovely stuff.

That reminded me of a Japanese young guy I taught English to, about 25 years ago in Brighton. he told me he played football in the 2nd division. I was stunned and asked him what team. I forget which it was but I had to gently inform him that it was the 2nd division of the SUSSEX county league. He was gobsmacked. But, they have a stadium! he said. Welcome to England chum.

That's not what it said, originally...
Fair enough, even as a mod I don't get an edit history of thread titles.

The grammar is still doing my swede a bit this morning so I can only assume it wasn't @Bozza unless he was in one of his ironic moods.

There were lots of Japanese fans in the club shop spending cash, which is nice!
One was sat behind us (not sure where the usual STHs were) - lovely lad, asked a few questions………….wearing away shirt with Mitoma on the back obviously, huge bag of stuff from the club shop and was gawping around in wonder most of the game. Mitoma scoring at the end sent him (respectfully and in a typically Japanese humble way) absolutely mental. Last seen charging down the steps to pitchside with his phone

Brighton factually.....
directly behind me and my daughter east lower H block, were sat three Americans from New York one of whom supported the Albion who had flown over a few days ago, to watch Friday Fulham, yesterday Brighton, and today Tottenham. Sat next to them were four what I presumed were Japanese folk, and yes the club shop was absolutely rammed after the match with Japanese fans eagerly purchasing everything..

Whilst walking back to the shop, we walked in line with a few slightly disgruntled young chav Bournemouth fans who loudly asked with open arms (as they do) “Where’s all the Brighton fans, this place is full of chink tourists”
had my daughter not been with me, I may have slapped him, I was rather hoping someone would have done it for me.
