I had Crodo on ignore for some reason. Didn’t even know I’d done that. Sorry Crodo.

That’s dangerous though……..easy to not open a thread thinking it’s about the presentation of some bizarre slow-roasted squirrel entrails served at a restaurant somewhere in Eastern Europe when in fact it turns out the thread is about our latest transfer target from Albania
Have you got the contact details for that restaurant?……….
sounds like fun!

I've never felt the need to put any person / thread on ignore.

If I don't like the look of a thread I just don't look at it. I have not put any person on ignore - ever. (Although I manage to skim over posts and refuse to engage with our resident antisemite)

I think the ignore thread option is useful, it makes the Big Board easier to see the threads i want to read, if there is a thread I have zero interest in it’s better I don’t see it.
I do miss the old tags at the bottom of threads, just clicked on this old American political thread to ignore it and it’s showing some old tags. :lolol:

How about excluding yourself from the whole forum and requesting the deletion of your posts?

That was a difficult time for everyone.

People were literally hysterical during COVID. There was a mass-hysteria that was exacerbated if not created by numerous poor decisions from the government.

I take comfort in that time has proven me correct with my claims and predictions, despite being silenced on here at the time.

But it's history. Why keep bringing it up?

You caused considerable shit for a good friend of mine at a time when, as you say, people were struggling anyway.

If you think it'll be forgotten, think again.

I presume you mean Bozza and any effort it took to delete the posts. That wasn't the intention, obviously. I presumed it was an easy thing to do - if it wasn't, then I don't understand why he did it. I figured he was just being principled and that it was a five minute jobbie, but I still appreciated it. I have genuine respect for him to be fair, but I've used NSC a long time.

At no point during the process was I made aware that it was causing "considerable shit" for anyone, beyond losing Netflix recommendations. Had I been made aware, then I would have said, honestly, don't worry about it...

I don't care if it is forgotten or not. I think the request was justified. Time has proven that I was not being outlandish with the things I was saying at the time. But I don't understand why certain moderators need to keep provoking me and bringing it up.

I will say this and no more: were it up to me, you wouldn't be on here now given how you behaved.

Fair enough.

I guess we're lucky that you don't run the place then, if you believe anyone that you disagree with or don't like should be silenced and banished. Imagine if people like that were in any kind of authority, anywhere.

I've always been vocal and opinionated and I think it's really important to go against the grain at times, but I go out of my way to avoid being rude or offensive. The only ban I've had on here is because a certain mod doesn't like me and my opinions, as I'm fully aware I don't actually say anything against the rules or objectively offensive.

Not sure what benefit there is using the ignore a poster function,it would be very boring if everyone had the same opinion.
Even the trolls contribute towards a debate about something completely irrelevant to the Opening post.
Take the Jamie thread for instance, imagine if you can missing out on that nugget of humour and drama.
It's a incredibly diverse forum and even caters aplenty for the spell check pendant who's lives would be very bland without the odd mispronunciation of Aaron Conerley 😉.
Life's too short to ignore anything that has the capacity to make you smile now and then.
The Jamie (RIP) thread got me involved in this forum. It was funny but went waaaaay too far towards the end, imo. But it started me lurking, then I registered, then I posted and am probably on loads of peoples ignore list! 😂
I ignore threads about cricket. I've never ignored a user. If I ignore them than I'll have no one to say 'you f**king knob' in my head to. Some on here make my actual friends look sane and that's good thing in my view!

Although I don't remember it, the ignore user option must have been a feature on vBulletin as, taking a quick look at the most ignored chart, there are a fair few users who are widely ignored but haven't been on the site for years.

as 10cc say, not in hove
I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago. The problem with having every single thread dominated by the same small handful of posters, lovely as they are I'm sure, is that it puts others off. I left here for a good while for that very reason. I want to have a chat, a laugh, find out transfer news, not see a small number of posters 10-20 times on every single thread. It seems very needy. I'm using the ignore member, ignore thread much more, but the threads are destroyed and without flow. It might make the uber-posters happy, I know it pisses off and deters many others.
