I thought that I had every album but never heard that track before

.
This is the B-side of 'Duchess', and as I replied to ozzygull is also on the US version of 'Three Sides Live'. I think the only album it is on in the UK is the second 'Archives' collection. Many people think there are other tracks that maybe could have been left off 'Duke' in favour of this one but maybe it didn't fit with the sound of that album. It's one of my favourite Genesis songs.

It's also on the 1976-1982 Box set

Thank you. I am a massive Genesis fan but did not buy singles, waited for the albums so did not know about this B Side. Duke is a fab album, this is a great song.

Ditto up to the point you say Duke is a “fab” album. It really isn’t! The low point in the Genesis story, in my opinion.

I like all Genesis albums but my favourites are "Selling England by the pound", "... And then there were three" and "Invisible Touch" which I guess is unusual, because a lot of people like either the more poppy sound or the more progy sound, I think all their albums have some great songs, those three, I like every song. I was 15 when "Invisible Touch" was released so it was my introduction to the band, loved it so much and went backwards and bought every album apart from "Genesis to Revelation" So even though a lot of Genesis fans hate it I would not of known about this great band without it.

'Trick of The Tail', '...And Then There Were Three' would be my favourites (with honorable mentions for 'Nursery Cryme' and 'Foxtrot') - although I think they wrote some fantastic tunes when Peter Gabriel was in the band I think they moved to a whole new level musically once he left and were the better for it.

The most complaints I read seem to be more about when Steve Hacket left, but as you say ‘...And then there were three’ is a stunning Album. Seems perfect for a winters night, I guess its ‘snowbound’ and undertow that give it that feel.

Getting back to B-Sides (and hopefully as far away from Genesis as possible), here's Otway's second greatest song, stupidly put on the b-side of his greatest:

Talulah Gosh's B-Side of Beatnik Boy:

And a double from Irma Thomas: Breakaway was the B-side in the US, Wish Someone Would Care was the B-side in the UK. Both stunning:

"Symptom of the Universe" was released 3 years and 2 albums before it was slapped on the b side of "A Hard Road."

Not their greatest lyrics, but a monster of a song.
