Interesting to note that John Terry is fit to play today, but wasn't 3 nights ago.

I'm sure the extra 2 days made a MASSIVE difference.
Avram Grant has said that he thought Terry was fit to play Wednesday. You think Terry would choose not to play if he could? I doubt it somehow.

Gerrard soon showed the fans how to answer critics.
I'm not his biggest fan but to be fair today he was played in a position where he CAN play well. Sissoko and Lucas Leiva sat back and controlled the midfield, allowing Gerrard pretty much a free role to hare around wherever he likes. That is where he can play well. But England have never used him in such a way.

He's played for England exactly where he's been played for Liverpool.

Should we build a team around Steven Gerrard? Personally I think not - I think he's overrated.

Really? We'd never have guessed. I'm sure he'll be devastated to learn of your opinion of him.

Heh - neither is he devastated to be getting a long holiday next June, even if it means the death knell of his 'world-class' status amongst most most football fans. Still, while he has people to defend him through these hard times, things are never be entirely lost.
