I think he needs to go, he’s just not quite good enough.

He had decent minutes today and a chance to earn his place but he just didn’t do anything. Seemed like he was a step behind everyone on the pitch. He’s a nearly man, nearly gets to the ball, nearly tackles his man, nearly beats his man, nearly gets a cross in, nearly makes a pass, nearly has a shot but in the end doesn’t do any of them.

Shame but I do think we should cut our losses now.

It feels tough to critique such a small sample size, but as it's going to be the only sample we get, so be it.

Looked like the very epitome of a current Albion player.

Capable of doing 'something' but also careless.
Obviously isn't going to change any opinions, but I didn't think he looked like a player who is clearly just not good enough.

To think Wolverhampton paid the same for Traore as we did for Ali J.

All very fair, but only a mindless idiot would decide either he was not good enough or absolutely was based on a cameo like that.

The reason people say he's shite is because he has been for most of his time at the club. Today he put in one decent cross but otherwise didn't stand out one way or the other. I'll just go with the view that whatever Potter thinks is good enough for me, but we need a bit more evidence of him "not looking like a player who is clearly just not good enough" in my opinion.

A 20 minute cameo was never going to be enough to chance my mind on him. Still in the belief he belongs in The Championship, but we’ll see what he comes up with over the Christmas period.

Shame. Really wanted him to prove me wrong. Hid rather than grabbed his chance. Felt sorry for him, mistakes were a player without any confidence.

Extremely harsh!

First game of the season, as a cameo, in a very tense game against a strong side, and you've decided that it was enough of a chance for him to prove his place in the squad!

Let him have a decent run in the side FFS. Thought he did okay today.

I’m not just basing that on one 20 minute cameo at all, it’s just today was very typical of all his performances for us.

And when you get an opportunity to play when you’ve not been getting a chance, you have to take it and he didn’t. As I say, he’s just not quite good enough.

I was really wishing him to do well. First thing he did was commit a foul, then gave the ball away and lost possession multiple times and wasted several good opportunities. I can't really think of a single good thing he did, sadly.

I thought he and Alzate played some nice passes

Totally agree. Considering how much pressure he must have been, playing his first minutes of the season, he did alright. Certainly better than Murray and on par with the rest of the squad.

Fair enough to judge your opinion on his performances last season, but to do so from today is extremely harsh.

I thought he was decent when he came on, with the exception of his first touch and one other sloppy pass. He had a couple of nice touches and put in one brilliant cross that Maupay or Murray should have been in position for. Then he would have been a hero.

His first minutes of the season, so he was hardly likely to be up to speed. I thought he had no role to play based on last season, but actually didn’t think he did himself any harm today.
