He was very lively for the first 30 mins then the lack of games started to show and was surprised he wasn't taken off earlier.
He was a success at Alkmaar because he got into goal scoring positions, he'll never be the silkiest of wingers but if he can get goals, who knows. Big call him turning round the last 18 months against tougher teams than the one he played today let's see

Great strike for the goal but offered very little else. Pleased for him that he scored and hopefully will get a few clubs interested in him come Jan transfer window!
Great to see him as the player we hoped he'd be instead of the walking confirmation bias many think he is.
Probably didn't look like a record signing, unsurprisingly.
But most definitely looked like a footballer, which will come as a surprise to many.

Sounds like a top pro and well-liked across the team. Really really hope he pushes on now.

You watched a different game to me then. Several efforts on goal, plenty of balls into the box, crucial interceptions quickly turning defence into attack, pin point first touches bringing Dunk’s long diagonal balls under control. It didn’t look a performance from someone who wasn’t getting a look in until now.
You forget. So many here are determined that every new player fails they refuse to see any positives

Before, during and for the first 3 months of his signing, I always said Mooy was shitehouse (well to be precise, nowhere near as good as his fan club on here make out)
So far I've seen nothing to change my mind.
I wouldn't want to be wrong in front of a bunch of strangers on a faceless messageboard, now would I?

Seriously ?!! The quality of balls he kept whipping into the box is what we’ve been seriously lacking and crying out for all season ! Far too often we waste opportunities by playing aimless ‘floaty’ crosses into the box and AJ’s deliveries were a breathe of fresh air. If he can maintain and build on this level of performance I would go as far to say that he will keep Gross firmly on the bench as he has the potential to offer much more to the overall team performance than Gross because he can attack at pace.

If anyone can be arsed to go back over this thread you'll see I have always seen something in him: subtle clever quick short passes (too clever for some of his team mates in the past). All he needed was a coach who knows how to connect his skills with the rest of the team.
He was interviewed on R5 after the game: better English than most English players, massive positive comments about his team mates, attitude spot on.
And a nice goal. What's not to like?
Some of the crosses he put in, were amongst the best any of our other wide players have put in this season. Without the goal, he did enough to keep his place in the squad , and, with Solly and Izzy out for the foreseeable future, if he does leave, we would need to replace him.
What's not to like?
Seemingly a player showing a glimmer of the potential you've refused to accept exists.

I don’t think you have a clue about Potter and the players he likes and doesn’t. I would be very surprised if he goes out on loan, he has made his determination to work his way into the team very clear and GP has been praising his attitude all season. He comes on and makes a difference and you decide it’s because we are trying to get rid of him?
I doubt you’re alone on here though, so much has been written about what a massive waste of money he was it’s gonna be tough for some on here to accept that they could be very wrong. Really hoping they are.

I'd say that was Bissouma, was my MOM before Mooy's outstanding goal, but AJ had a very good game all the same and really pleased for him.
Don't tell him that, you'll ruin his Christmas.
