Here's a recent Tweet from a Dutch freelance sports journalist. Dunno how reliable he is.

Not Leicester City, but Brighton and Hove Albion (also Premier League) seems to be the new employer of Alireza Jahanbakhsh. The Iranian will complete his transfer in the coming days. A minimum of twenty million euros is involved in the transition.

On visits to Villa Park, each time they spend the hours before kick off on the big screens showing footage and interviews about their 1982 European Cup win. For a supposedly massive club, the old scratchy record is well and truly stuck.

No different to our pre-match Montage then?

Got to love these Iranians on the Leicester city forums.

Guys I watch PL regularly, brighton won 9 ****ing games last year. As I told you before, the kid was going to Napoli! if not for Sarri's departure. I was getting around to accepting leicester, now it seems hes going to brighton...please Help me come to terms with this move... (given up on feeling excited tbh). Had a good time here with you guys, dont even think ill bother joining a brighton forum tbh, just very depressed about this move. It seems like a lateral move in my point of view, I think AZ are actually similar in terms of quality to brighton. I want him to play with some quality big players, at Brighton he is already the most known player...

Maybe he is right and we have a player better than vicente :albion2:

Note the obvious constrasts:

Montage of the little old Albion's rise, then near extinction, followed by the Amex resurrection

versus

A club who believe they're huge in any era, rattling on non-stop about 1982.

Spot the difference.

I was about to post that quote. Quite ridiculous and by the sounds of it not a great loss to NSC. Strange that he thinks Ali would be our best known player. I imagine he wouldn't even be in the top ten.

On a side note I've been told Iran is a nice country to visit

With a British, American or Canadian passport you can only go with a government allocated guide, so you get the full propaganda tour and then escorted back out again.

My Dutch friends who have been with a little more freedom loved it, said it was a fascinating place.

I hope this comes off.

Any idea when this will all get resolved? Maybe tonight when Ali is at the training ground for a photoshoot?

I can well imagine.

I really am not a 'traveler' of any kind, but for some reason I find Iran fascinating, and would love to go.

Anyone worked the cost of a shirt with his name on it?

Again, akin to wee Percy, this has will doubtless have the Argus headline writing team sharpening their pencils with glee:

Ali ‘Jahanbacklash’

‘Serious Ali’’ and variants: Serious Ali?!? Serious Ali good... works on so many levels, especially as a ‘comical Ali’ parody.

‘Jahan Solo’ - Brilliant individual effort.

And in the event of a calamitous piece of showboating...

Jahanbackheelhash’

The list goes on!

Ahem

It has been around for a while, but the climax seems to be approaching quickly. Alireza Jahanbakhsh will leave AZ in the short term and the Premier League seems to be his destination. Several Iranian media know that Brighton & Hove Albion has the best papers to take over the winger. Leicester City is also in the race, but with the latter club the player does not seem to be able to agree on the terms of employment. Brighton, the club of Davy Pröpper and Jurgen Locadia, would have 25 million euros left for the top scorer of the past season.
