He is being given a decent chance. He’s had pre-season, friendlies and now a league cup game to impress the new manager. Are you suggesting Potter puts him in even if he hasn’t been impressed with what he’s seen so far?

He might not have a choice if we bin Locadia and Murray and Maupay get injured or sent off in the next couple of games

Could of course give game time to Connolly.

If Potter doesn’t rate him I guess he should be loaned out as well as Locadia?

Unless he's not quite match for, his leg was heavily taped v Valencia, I thought Ali's absence through preseason and the 18 was rather telling, yet he ought to make the 18 on Saturday and is one incident away from the 11.

All very odd.

I'll add it to the list.

Every club gets caught out by a World Cup bubble stock and we just have to hold up our hands that we have here.

He’ll be gone when we get some money back.

Just a shame it happened straight after Locadia who I think is a much better player, technique wise.

At least with Trossard, Maupay this run of awful due diligence on big signings has come to an end, onwards and upwards etc

How do you explain the fact the club had been scouting him for 2 or 3 season's prior to his arrival?

Witchcraft?

We spent 3 years tracking a top class right winger, eventually we got our man. This forum even tracked his plane coming in and posted pictures of him on Montefiore Road about to go for his medical! But now the decision has been made he's no good, because he spent a year playing in an ultra defensive left wing position and now we're considering playing him as a right wing back!

I think everyone can agree that we've taken some promising careers and absolutely flushed them down the toilet (Mackail-Smith), but Jahanbakhsh is potentially even more of a waste of talent than CMS was.

Oh, and one other thing.... ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO......

This. This a hundred times.

I think technically, all our five or six right and left forwards have similar qualities and play at the same level. But as we all know, psychology and confidence plays a big factor on how a player plays. It is going to be interesting to see how Potter boosts/maintains their confidence throughout the season.

Yet the club has taken some centre backs who's careers have been in the u-bend, got it's magic plunger out and blammo.

Not only rescued a career.
Or halted retirement.
But produced the form of their lives.

Makes no sense!!

Blimey by that logic Ali is even better than your average Iranian, wandering around downtown Tehran, would have us believe.

Thanks to Mooy the only way Ali was getting that pass off, in front of Connelly, while still onside, was to pinball it off a Rovers player arse.

The guy's a freakin genius.
Suggest you look at it again. Connolly (for that is how to spell it) was always marginally onside in that move. The pass should have been made at the point Mooy was crossing its trajectory so that the ball would have passed just behind him.

AJ is not up to it either

By the club's (Potter's) metric, Ali is considerably nearer the door than Big Jurg was.
For me the telling bit in the statement was mentioning 2 (two) kidz and not just Connelly.

Now my flabber is no longer agast, I've gone from being rudely patronising at the merest mention of Ali leaving this EU window, to be more surprised if he's still here, next month.

They have certainly foreshadowed another departure.

But if he had any credit in the bank posters might point out he's hardly kicked a ball in anger since April.
He was involved in both goals.
Unexplainably it's another win for the Albion, when he starts.
Wrong again.

He's had as much chance as anybody else since April. In fact, he was picked for the starting XI on both the 4th and 12th of May. Inexplicably, we didn't win either of those... .

In fact I don't know why you even picked on me to quote; I was criticizing Ninja bloody Elephant, not Ali FFS!

Could be completely wrong but by second half of season would expect AJ to be a rotating member of our front three

Only time have seen him look a decent player is West Brom away in cup - was played in a central advanced role
