Without the internet no one would be ordering crap they don’t need in the first place.
I do like a radio though. How I long for the old school audio visual shops. I went into a Richer Sounds recently and was mildly aroused.

You can get away with that in there, but to be fair there is an element of risk in John Lewis.

My point was that this thread is about AliExpress. Making the claim that it‘s bad to order from AliExpress, a marketplace with millions of sellers, because of Shein’s business practices doesnt make sense.

Well that was my first and last dip into Aliexpress. The 5inch DVBT2 (thats freeview for anyone under 30) TV turned up, marvellous cheap desktop addition. The only good thing thing coming out of Crystal Palace is the television reception so it's works perfectly with the inbuilt aerial.

The FM/AM/SW radio will never turn up. I was given a false FedEx tracking number (common scam it seems) which after detective work was connected to a heavy and delivered consignment to an industrial estate in Exeter. The sender can claim delivery, but it's a rubbish scam because it's so easy to find out.

Luckily I paid through Klarna who will sort out the small amount of money I have lost. I stalled the further payments.

Found a good as new replacement radio on eBay, which means I can continue my hobby of listening to Chinese state radio on shortwave.

I use it to buy cycling related products that have got extremely expensive with western brands. If you know what to look for you can be pretty confident in what you’re buying. You are buying from sellers, so stick to the ones that have good reviews and high volumes of previous sales. Avoid everything with no reviews and low sales - the chance of it being a scam is high.

If it looks too good to be true then it usually is.

Pretty much everything on Amazon these days is just repackaged or dropshipped from Aliexpress anyway.
