Hi,

I lived on Madeira Island, Portugal for 7 months back in 2007, I lost my job and have tried hard ever since to get back there to live again.

I work from home now and have just been given the go ahead to relocate to a place of my choice in Europe somewhere.

Im toying with Madeira or Portuguese mainland.

Now with my new love of golf, I have to consider the algarve as its a golfers paradise there.

Now ive only ever been once to the algave, so has anyone been a regular visitor to either the algarve or within touching distance of it?

I dont want to live in a big english area full of mels english brekkie and brits everywhere with not a portuguese person in sight. So does anyone know an area on the algarve that hasnt been ruined by brits and has kept its portuguese charm and hasnt forced locals to move???

Cheers

have you looked at the silver coast? near obidos to be precise...........

50 mins north of lisbon (all motorway A8) , a really stunning part of portugal that the english seem to overlook. thats why many portuguese take their holiday's there.
we have a brand new 3 bed villa there set in a nature reserve right next to the fantastic golf courses of praia del rey and the newly opened bom successo. a third course the royal obidos will be openeing in 2012. being the atlantic coast they have fantastic surf there aswell. great climate with a bit of a breeze....

Bom Sucesso - Design Resort, Leisure bidos

this is the 1st year we have rented it out , and although the summer bookings are going quite well we are worried about the winter months, so are thinking of long term lets. maybe this could be of help to you until you find something permenant?

we also have the dates available for when albion are over there, but maybe a three hour drive to any of there games depending on where they are, would give discount to any albion supporters, even for general holidays or golfing weekends.

you can check out the villa here ;- Villa rental in Bom Sucesso / Obidos, Silver Coast, Portugal
