Surely this is the model. Sign youngster, develop into potential superstar, sell on to foolish club who cannot develop stars themselves, throw in raw talent who is likely to be better than previous player to repeat the process
I don’t think the top clubs are foolish. You generally speaking can’t win leagues with too many players in development. Therefore the big clubs have to wait and buy the finished article.

The issue we have is the next raw talent can’t always be better than the last player.

I have been thinking that our attitude to former players is a bit weird for some time now. I acknowledge that Alexis Mac Allister gave us great kudos with his part in winning the World Cup. I also am predisposed in favour of Liverpool over any other Premier League Club as a destination for our players if we have to sell them.... but it is now clear that the player himself his consigned his good time with us to the past and we really should do the same. The relationship is history now..... move on!

Obviously one of our greatest ever players, in a bracket with Lawrenson and key to our greatest season. The way he departed with no manipulation or furtiveness was classy.

I'll still applaud seeing him.

From the photos in the Argus and the warm way he went out of his way to embrace Dunk and others on Wednesday no he hasn't consigned us to the past.

He was there last player to leave the pitch, after going round and applauding all sides of the ground. I don’t remember other ex-players doing that

Jamie O'Hara for Wolves received a reception from all 4 Amex stands.

I remember Hazard for Chelsea being clapped off by many Brighton fans after his performance against us at the Amex. Along with Cole Palmer’s earlier this season, and Coutinho once for Liverpool, that was probably the best individual performance I’ve ever seen from an outfield player against us

Just had a strong coffee?

I’m not going to deny he was outclassed by Hinsh, many players have been, and will be, such is Jack’s talent. He’s quite a player, don’t you agree?
He's definitely better than I gave him credit for. For me he doesn't have enough outstanding qualities to make him a top 4 player.

Hinsh is an outstanding talent. A very mature and intelligent head on such young shoulders. He just looks the part and I really hope he continues to develop and plays a long time in blue and white stripes.
I want to see him back at RB. I think that spell he had there was the best we’ve ever had, both in defence and attack.

As for Mac A, he’s just like any other opposition player to me.

We shall see at the end of the season, the agree criteria for a “top 4 player” is Liverpool finish top 4 and he plays 2/3rds or more of the EPL games. Or were you talking about Hinsh?

McA was in the first XI of a team that finished third last season.
I know, but he didn’t play all their EPL game because he was injured/is f***ing shit (delete according to whether you are @dwayne or everyone else). So we had a fresh friendly bet on this season.

He rolled about on the floor a couple of times, after being well beaten in the challenge, and then got up before the trainers were called on.
