That is accurate in as far as it goes - but it doesn't take into account further year options the club has on Veltman and Trossard ( + maybe others ).
That’s because the options may not be exercised. Very very unlikely we won’t take up those options but at the moment the end dates for the contracts are accurate on the site.

NB. Zone 14 is the central area just outside the penalty box.

Lovely news. I've been a fan since pretty much day one, he's a great player.

I forgot how young he is though, only 23. It feels like he's been with us a long time. That's credit to the club's recruitment and to him for adapting so well and making himself such a valuable player.

Always knew he'd be the most likely to re-sign.

Seems to be a very professional and patient person.

Not being under a more intense spotlight at a bigger club probably suits him.

Are you sure that there isn't a release clause in this new contract?
I think for Brighton to agree such a thing the new contract would have had to be longer than this one.

2025 makes sense though. For him to stay with Brighton for 1-2 more years and then move on is probably the best possible deal for the club and a good one for him as well.

Personally I think he’s better than Bissouma was in the defensive role. No one’s saying we missed Bissouma today plus he’s more likely to start for Argentina in the same role no way is he ever going to play as a ten for them.

The responses to be claiming that very good clubs will be in for him next summer and that he won't sign a new contract.

I'm guessing you're all seeing it now.

It is fortunate that it turned out he had another year on his contract; unfortunate however that he is too damn good to sign a new contract and would be a ****ing madman if he did. Absolute gem and playing in one of the best clubs in the world next season.

We need to enjoy him while we can.

Why would he be a madman to sign a new deal?
He must be enjoying it here and it’s security. and if a major club wants him they will buy him anyway.
God bless Mad Mac
