That makes no sense.
He's contracted until summer 2023. Why would we suddenly give them an option to buy ? Just so he can play potentially as little as the 12 matches we have after the U23 tournament ends.
I think that report may have it wrong.

It might have it right - would explain that article suggesting that Boca think he might end up back with them longer term.
There is no logic to the club offering that. Mac Allister is under contract for 3.5 more seasons, why offer such an option ? There is no need. All we are looking at doing is recalling a loan - for a 12 match period after the U23 competition ends.
Sounds more like a seeded story to appease Boca fans.
If we were to get relegated, we'd have to show him the story of Rubén Neves. A Year in the Championship, getting used to English football, before going on to take the Premier League by storm.
