Does he have any pace?

Someone else described him as a shaqiri type player. A young, speedy shaqiri is a mouth watering prospect.

According to Tim Vickery,

"Mac Allister is a slight figure who is not blessed with exceptional pace.

But he strikes the ball well, has excellent vision and enjoys bursting into the box."

Frank Lampard?

I really don’t think Potterball requires much pace, it’s really about quickness of mind in terms of being in the right place at the right time and quick one touch football.

Is he has vision and likes getting in the box, he should thrive. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to him establishing himself in the Argentina team.

I'm looking forward to the Albion selling him for a bazillion pounds, then :bounce:ing half this thread back to the 'why buy him brigade'. :lolol:

I agree to a certain extent, but Sheffield United showed how a well organised and committed team can completely nullify our style, the only time we really troubled United was when Connolly came on and started to stretch the field, I feel we’d benefit from a winger with genuine pace.

Totally agree. There's not a team in the world, or a style of football for that matter, that doesn't benefit from genuine pace. It stops the defending team from being as compact and pushes them back because they're scared of the ball over the top. It's a necessity on so many levels.

I agree in the sense that not any one given player needs pace but a team as a whole does. It poses a whole other threat and provides a very helpful hand when defending. A team of Speedy Pirlos will beat a team of Pirlos.

Anyone in the know have an update on him? Is he likely to join in January or the Summer?

Apparently he needs 2 international caps to get a work permit. So will be the summer, at the earliest I imagine.

I expect they would have put it here if someone had anything other than wild speculation. Even then they would have posted it here anyway

He'll be coming in the Summer.
A couple more full international caps will confirm it.
(I'll hazard a guess as he's that close its now a formality)

Then someone's got the monumental job of :bounce:ing all the moist bed posts from #361 onwards.

The Argentina manager might do something crazy for these competitive internationals like, you know, pick Messi instead

Take it with a pinch of salt. But there’s a rumour on Reddit he may be joining us this month.
In the unlikely event of that happening, I'm going to have to speak to Barber-Out.

We're going to have to coordinate the time because I have no holiday left, so it'll need to be on my day off.

Even then it'll be a tough ask, but someone is required to...

...:bounce: a seriously large amount of posts.

I could well be wrong, but I thought that the rumour then was that we'd been pursuing a work permit with a view to bringing him over in the summer.

His agent advised that although his agent is his Dad.......

I suspect any rumour has come from the fact that Boca didn't show him in any of the photos of players reporting back after their break.

Then someone realised he was with Argentina U23s.
