It depends how solid his contract situation is, the extension should put more high value cards in our hand but the club know what they're doing.

Just about the least likely rumour so far. Dortmund NEVER buy for big fees, never have and never will. They’ll do what they always do when they get a big fee for a player, invest 30-40% of it into three new prospects, one of them makes it hopefully and then sell him for huge profit after a few seasons.
Basically exactly like us. The idea of Dortmund getting £100m for Bellingham then turning around and spaffing £75-£80m on MacAllister is ludicrous.
Souness is a twat, but in some respect he is right. 'Good luck getting him to sign a new contract' sounds stupid when he's just signed one - but before that Souness said it's only a matter of time before he goes. Including the extension, if triggered, we've got him on a contract for three and a half years - but do any of you seriously think he'll be here for that length of time?

Football… the ultimate game of opinions. MacAllister is an integral part of an Argentinian World Cup winning team. He is not a bit part player. An absolutely vital cog in (a) a gutsy win (when it mattered) and (b) probably the second best team goal in World Cup final history. Bellingham is a fabulous talent and has been lauded as potentially world class from 16. MacAllister is now in the FULL glare/crosshairs of global football radar and is on the same pathway as Bellingham. The (as usual shit) article infers Mac is a easily affordable replacement for Bellingham. When AliMac leaves it’ll be to the very top of the game like Bellingham.
