a galaxy far far away
certainly time to show something yeah

Not bring included in the squad on the opening day must have been a bit of a shock to him. I agree with that decision. Alexis hasn't done enough so far to warrant a place in the starting XI or nor probably a place on the bench. That's not to say he's a dud. Loads of players have come in and had the sort of start he's had then gone on to impress. A big night for him tonight though

Looks off the pace. Many better players who have been great in foreign leagues have come here and basically flopped...... Hopefully he doesn't, but Ali J and Locadia are two of our own, high profile players like Andriy Shevchenko. Falcao - fantastic abroad, crap here.

Seems pace and physicality is hard on some players. Obvs Alexis Macc is a good player, he showed it at Boca, but will he be a good PL player?

He's had an underwhelming start .. but I'd say look at his age. Bissouma took a couple of years to flourish. Loads of time for him to come good

He's 21, played 9 games with only 10 minutes of which was before a pandemic, where he then played with no proper pre season.

So a young player who arrived on the cusp of a global pandemic.
Was locked down in a new country for months.
Returned to football.
Second assist the goal that set the tone for the return.
Is currently a squad player in the most compact season ever.
Has already said 'hes surprised at the difference in pace of the game'.

now looks off the pace and needs to prove himself v Portsmouth.

Jeeeeeeasus wept.

Quite ironic, given the Villa debacle, that Potter appears to be taking this season's Carabou Cup a little more seriously.... when there are no fans in attendance.

Tsk!

not at all , just discussing.

None of us are happy that he hasn't hit the ground running as he was going to be the guy that saved us from going down at one point. Didn't work out like that and that fine.

Its good when players show something straight away thats all.

Unfortunately the one thing Mac and flops so far have in common is doing nothing in their first batches of games.

Hopefully that will end tonight or soon and we can get a glimpse into what we potentially have.

Not do or die but at some point we want to see something and against lower league opp is a bloody good place to start.

No dramas to be made. Just discussions about it. Not everything is black and white

What like Locadia who scored in his first two appearances.

But that's where 'it' starts and by Christ 'it' never stops.

I'm (not) amazed 'just asking the question' has started already.
I recently said I'd like to see him at least up to speed by the end of the calendar year.

Given all the circumstances around the timing of his move to the UK, I think even that is being harsh.
I certainly haven't put a goal/assist number to him, but would like some.

Yet here we are after one league game on the day of the second game of the season discussing 'it'.

Stoooopid.

You'd think he'd get an easier time of it what with his British name and all!
