She is toast and the abuse she and her tyrannical so called 'Social Democratic' SNP party have wreaked on the Scottish Legal System in cover ups, abuse of power and general lying is gradually unfolding. Her husband (in name only) will not last a week and she will be taken down by AS.
Little gets reported down South (and here due to her stranglehold of the BBC and ITV and various super injunctions that she has in place) but it is a sad sad situation that Stalin and Hitler would have been proud of. When the ruling party controls the legal system for their own devices it is the end of democracy. She and her noxious hoards have done just that.
Luckily we get the chance on 5th May to kick her and her extremists out and restore a democratic government. The Tories up here are well led and in Ruth Davidson, who will take up a position in the Lords later in the year, they have a truly excellent politician.

A part of me wonders if this is all highest level dirty tricks to derail Scottish Independence.

If they have "any photographs" then Salmond could just be a device in the plot.

Probably not... or maybe

As soon as they get independence, and they probably will some day the SNP will be immediately voted out.

So what is going on here ? The Snp could do well in the May elections and actually force an Indyref 2 which they could win a prize Salmond has been striving for. We know that Salmond will play to the gallery and is a slippery mover so again what is going on here ?

Will be a big loss to Scotish politics no matter what you thought of him
Considered one of the most influential politicians in Scottish history. Suspected heart attack apparently.

As someone else wrote, a true conviction politician who cared deeply for his country, he transformed politics north of the border. Sturgeon would have been nothing without him as soon as they fell out she and the SNP were finished. RIP in big man, I didn't agree with most of your politics but I respect you for being a true socialist, something Starmer will never be.

I thought there were some incredibly crass comments on this thread, more worthy of an old-school 'NSP speaks ill of the dead' thread, them I realised that for some reason Salmond's 'RIP' thread had been added/merged onto his court case one! Jeez.

Anyway, yes, politically speaking he was a great politician. The fact he looked like a provincial solicitor meant he was always under-estimated by the English, but he almost single-handedly turned the cause of Scottish independence from being little more than a 'bagpipes in a misty glen' type of romantic idealism into a legitimate, plausible and powerful force.

Clamour from Scotland for the RAF to repatriate Salmond's body from Macedonia with military honours.

Sure to be an incredibly emotional occasion at Hampden tonight as his beloved Scotland take on Portugal, a minutes applause planned amongst other tributes and honours.
