All down to opinions and my opinion is that he is not as good as we have including Davies, so whats the problem putting his ability in perspective. Why is it Southend are prepared to loan him out to a lower Div 1 side? Answer they probably hope Wycombe will buy him.

We don't need Revell. But to claim that he is not as good as Davies and then claim you are putting things into perspective is a joke, right?!

Davies has somehow gained a reputation for being quite good on here, despite his 1 goal in 12 months for us.

It was also another reason to criticise Slade for not picking him, as he was clearly the goalscorer that was going to fire us to the premiership whilst he was on loan at Yeovil.

It's a bit harsh for a Swindon fan to say he was "shit" (Brentford away aside, I'm presuming!), considering that 3 strikers have joined them on loan this season and not performed to any great standards. Revell, Hutchinson, Obadeyi. What do they all have in common? Didn't play many games, and were out of the team pretty quickly. Their other two play consistently and, magically, they've formed a partnership. Wowee, didn't see that one coming.

Revell, imo, is good enough for this league providing you're not heavily reliant on him to score goals. We survived last season with Hart (who never scored) supplying Owusu (who did!), it's about the balance and the partnership. I always liked Alex Revell for his effort and determination, and the fact that he COULD score goals. Not regularly, but banging a hattrick past Bournemouth and a double past MK Dons is pretty good.

Revell had plenty of chances, his last kick was a one on one with the carlisle keeper, the ball has probably just landed in Inverness. Not good enough.

I may be a senile old TCB but IMHO we do not need to sign a player who is no better than what we have if we wish to move on and Revell falls into that catergory, If we are interested in signing a striker then we need to get a proven goalscorer to eventually take over from Forster due to his age or Murray if he goes. This would then leave Dickenson as the main back up, and a goodbye tpo Davies and Hart. If GP believes that he doesnt need to replace either Murray or Forster then we do not need another striker especially one who has proven to be no better than we have. and is not a prolific goalscorer.
